Hi. This is mattytiger here. Checking in at melt day 1036, week 148, in the 24,865th hour.
On 1/9/12 my innocence was stripped from me, my emotional attachment to my tigers was stolen.
I remember that day very well... To make a wall of text short, I was pissed pre game. Pissed at the fact we had to play bama twice. I knew we would smear OSUs arse into the turf, along with Stanford. I knew there was a very good chance our dream season would be flushed down the toilet on a team we had beaten previously. Did bama deserve to be there? Sure. Did they earn it? No. Even when Saban was at LSU he couldn't produce such a dominant regular season.
Come game time I was nervous as all fricks, for good reason.
I remember during/post game my mind was blank. I had no emotion, no feeling toward the outcome. I immediately determined I wasn't going to follow LSU that offseason.
I had an old rant account, but rarely posted because I was young when I made it.
Come 2012, I thought LSU was geared for revenge, and another title run. The lost to Florida wasn't so bad because we could still win out and get revenge against bama. I thought we'd lose, because Mettenberger had blown all season long.
Despite a courageous effort, our hearts were ripped out again. I was at the game and got sick to my stomach after the screen pass to Yeldon.
I went to the crowded restroom to vomit.
Next year I said. And sure enough, 2013 rolls along and I'm confident as all hell. Even with 2 losses I thought we'd spoil bama's 3peat. But a killer offense and a shitty D doesn't cut it vs a Saban team.
My heart wasn't ripped out, but it still caused heart ache.
And once again... 2014. LSU has a young, improving team. Welcoming UAT back into Death Valley. I'm hopeful and excited. After that fumble, I looked to the heavens and said this is it. Me and some friends started doing YES! chants.
How foolish. When that squib went out of bounds, my entire section (206) went blank. We knew deep down this wouldn't be good.
And whataya know... Bama destroys us. Totally deflates us. All the excitement and build up... All for not.
I love LSU. I really do. I stand here after 4 straight, a different person than i Was 3 years ago.
I'm not so quick to trash talk, because fans of the shittiest of teams (Ole Miss + A&M) can say 21-0, and it still burns.
I avoid some of my friends who are Bama bandwagoners. I avoid my uncles sometimes... because they're all gumps.
I'm not gonna act like I don't despise Bama... Or that I'm not jealous of their coach and success... because before Miles, there was Saban.
Before there was Lon there was Noah.
So anyway. Congrats Bama. You have our number. Our run as LSU>Bama was fun. But we are bama lite. I'm proud of our teams effort.
PS: This matchup needs better refs. They aren't why we lost, but there were multiple missed PI calls on both sides.
oh and GTFO the field Saban

This sums up my feelings exactly. You put into words what many LSU fans are feeling after this weekend. Our offense has been our downfall for years now and it's not gonna allow us to beat Bama. We need a REAL QB.

Hopefully Harris will be ready to go next season. He has as an arm somewhat close to jRussell and he's showed flashes this season

For the record I like Arkansas and lsu offense better than the crap we run now. We run it because our OL sucks and we can't run the ball like we used to.

Yeah. It made it easy for LSU to stop the run

Umm you had one that has already started two NFL games and he was 0-2 against Bama. That along with an NFL RB and two extremely talented WR's.
