Leonard Floyd to the NFL.......

So, Leonard Floyd is only a Sophmore, but he spent a year at some military community college prior to UGA, meaning he will already be eligible for the NFL draft after this season......
Does that mean we're going to lose Floyd already?
Or is it one of those deals where it' might be better for him to stay another year in college to imrove his draft stock?

I think he'll probably get a first round grade. If he does, he'll leave. He could stand to bulk up some, but he can do that just as well in the pros and get paid for it.
If he gets below a first round grade, he might stay.

I know in the offseason I read that Pruitt was selling him on improving this year and then using next year to really refine his game and help him get a big jump in the draft. Especially since it sounds like he was just "winging it 90% of the time last year" according to Floyd.
I sure hope he comes back and I honestly think it'll help make him a more well rounded LB and will get him some more money.
I think the same should apply to Jenkins (even more so than Floyd honestly)

A lot of sites I've seen have LF as a 1st round projection. Even though his production may not be AS high as we'd like, his potential is still sky high. I think it's a foregone conclusion he's gone. Wouldn't be surprised if Jenkins went as well.

His performance in the remaining games will play into this. If he continues to perform like he has thus far this season, I'm afraid he'll leave. If he regresses enough, he'll stay.

I think he'll probably go late first round this year. I honestly think he could go top 10 next year but I don't know if he's going to gamble that and pass up the sure money. He could star in Pruitt's D next year.
If he goes this year and the Falcons turn it around and get a mid round pick...I'd be thrilled with him.

I honestly don't think he's ready for the nfl yet. He would be fine in the long run and he'd be getting paid, but unthinking he transition is pretty big for him right now.

that's the big thing. You see college kids every offseason go even with 3rd and 4th round grades because they've never had money. If you're projected to be a top 10 pick...he really has no reason to stick around.

Yea I agree that if he's projected in the first round, he almost definitely leaves (and I couldn't blame him a bit).

what are those numbers?
the last pick gets a signing bonus of 2.2 mill?
a total package?
what am I missing..that can't be right?

I don't think there's much of a chance he'll stay unless Pruitt sells it to him that he doesn't weigh enough yet and could be top 10 next year...
Good thing we reload with Lorenzo though

I would like him to stay and bulk up, but if he is projected early first round, then he should go. Hopefully we have one of those $70,000 insurance policies on him
I also have no doubt Lorenzo Carter will fill his shoes just fine.

Eastman isn't a booming town, but even if middle class, anyone could use a few million

Eastman
The only thing I know about this place is growing up if you got in big trouble as a Juvie they would threaten or send you to Eastman.

I would guess if he has a first round grade, he will leave. Otherwise, he will return. He needs to bulk up a bit more and it wouldn't hurt for him to learn a bit more about anticipating an inside handoff. He needs to be prepared physically and mentally for a 4-3 NFL defense....IMHO

what IT said...he needs some weight...too scrawny for the NFL...
