While watching the game Saturday I was wondering if Alabama has returned to form or if TAMU is just that bad and played with zero effort.

Probably somewhere in the middle of both... as Cecil Hurt made that point. It's sticking with me. We prob aren't exactly 59-0 epic arse kicking people for the rest of the season, and A&M is likely not quite as bad as they played.
But we sure answered a few questions in terms of the team's actual resolve.

Got to be a bit of both. A&M has too much talent to be that bad. The only explanation I have for Alabama going from 1 point win at Arkansas to a 59-0 massacre in Tuscaloosa is the home/away.

It looked to me that A&M played with zero effort.
So Bama played well, but they were not really challenged at all the whole game. They didn't have to do anything exceptional to be successful.

Bama never left, TAMU is playing horribly but they aren't THAT bad.
It is like a boxer connecting with another boxer on the chin when he is leaning the wrong way in the first round and he goes straight down. I am not saying that it was a lucky punch, but the combination of the force of the punch and the boxer leaning off balance combined to create the knock down. The two boxers might be more even, in reality, but the circumstance led to the first round knock down.

I think Alabama is the most TALENTED team in the country. Now as we've seen that doesnt always mean the best team, but when we play up to what we are capably of no one in the country can beat us... But its getting this team to play up to that level thats the question.

Bama never left. They have always played excellent defense. While their offense has been through some ups and downs, we certainly know their potential after the UF game. They just need to develop consistency.
A&M is certainly not as bad as they showed, because they have lots of talent, but offense is not on the same page, and they got off to a horrible start and started to panic. meanwhile Bama played wit tons of confidence and kept their foot on the gas, and stayed aggressive until the last play.

TAMU sucks donkey balls. That said, Bama's walk-on scout team was pretty much in for the 4th quarter and TAMU still couldn't score. So they may be back as well.

This game is like TAMU vs SC game earlier in the season. Lots of people got excited about it but ended up being being a rather useless gauge of both teams.
It's both, IMO. TAMU got it's defense exposed and exposed badly. Whereas Bama was able to put the ball in its playmakers hands with little interference from TAMU's D.
When Bama's D exposed TAMUs O that was all she wrote.
