LSU fans, I and many other older Bama fans feel your pain regarding Les Miles and his coaching philosophy. Gene Stallings did the same thing when he was at Bama, run the ball, play defense, play up or down to competition. We even experienced the same phenomenon when he hired Homer Smith as yall are experiencing with Cam Cameron. Smth was hailed as an offensive guru who would finally open up the playbook, throw the ball around, etc. But Stallings handcuffed him in the same way Miles is doing with Cameron.
Both coaches win a lot of games, and will on occasion catch lightening in a bottle and win a championship. But it doesn't make it any less frustrating as a fan to watch. So amid all the trolling, smack talk, etc. keep in mind some of us know exactly how you feel. It's a double edged sword. On one hand it's hard to argue with either's success, but that doesn't make it any less aggravating to watch the product on the field.

And I always say that we watch sports to be entertained. Nothing about watching that offense struggle entertains LSU fans. shite is depressing.

I can only hope LSU gets a set of coaches like we had for 10 years after Stallings....

Seems clear that if Cameron = Homer Smith, then Chavis = Bill Oliver.
Wonder who on the LSU staff is = DuBose?

Thats just downright mean..

I have always thought Chavis and Oliver are cut from the same cloth. Even though Oliver ran a 3-4 and Chavis runs a 4-3 their philosophies and personnel are very similar.

Say what you want about DuBose, but he wins everywhere he coaches

are you kidding? Stallings had to have a staffer whose sole job was to check his pulse every 5 minutes.

I can picture him clapping now....

This my biggest gripe about Les (not referring to MSU this year because they are legit).
But the constant struggles against shitty teams...eg Arkansas 2013/2012, Auburn 2012, Tennessee 2010. Too many losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Leave Coach Stalling out of this. Different time and place. He had to pick up the pieces left behind by Ray Perkins and Bill Curry.

I disagree, I think 2013 showed that when the pieces are there this can be a fun offense to watch. LSU has to get better line play, and they have to be confident in Harris/Fournette/receivers. The talent is there and LSU has demonstrated willingness to use their playmakers before.

I'm an older Bama fan and I enjoyed the Stallings era; he was just what we needed at that time. I'd rather win games ugly than lose 'em in style...

We don't do that - thread is shite!

He is my friend. He won't change we may be Tennessee shortly.

Agreed. Horrendous comparison. Stallings went undefeated, and was in the SECCG seems like most of the time he was there. If not for Spurrier's historic run, who knows?
Les got lucky--are they still the only 2 loss BCS champion? With one loss being to K-E-N-T-U-C-K-Y??
Edited: I don't know if this is a troll or not--hard to tell, because apparently the cool kids around here like to do it.
But Les was handed a Ferrari. Stallings was handed a Taurus. We had lost to AU 4 years in a row leading into 1990 when he was hired.
