I'm so glad we are doing away with this system. The new one will have flaws, but damn.

Ohio State ahead of Georgia is ridiculous...I don't know exactly where OSU should be ranked, but certainly not top 10.

Looks ok, but LSU and UCLA ahead of A&M after last week is pretty ridiculous.

Don't really have any respect for the coaches poll.
They have their preconceived notions, do not react well to new information, and do not even watch the games.
It is a really ignorant and antiquated poll that should even be viewed as legitimate IMO.

In the AP, Wisconsin will be lower and A&M will be higher. So

I wouldnt say Georgia is underrated.
In fact, 8th may be too high, but its all semantics at this point.
If we can show the same performance as 2nd half Clemson on a consistent basis then we're definitely underrated.
As is, until we're forced to pass the ball or defend the pass (due to our pass rush getting shut down) then I'll remain hesistant.

Others Receiving Votes Oklahoma State 106
In the preseason poll, they got 56 points and would have ranked #30 if the rankings went that far. Now they have 106 and are #26. Reminds me of 1979, when LSU went into its game with #1 USC ranked 19th, lost a close one, and moved up to #17. A rare occasion when poll voters actually make a good decision, recognizing that losing a close one to a top team is often better than beating a shitty team.

About what I expected. Paraphrase of my post from 31-August:
TAMU will move into Top 15.
We should move into Top 10, but will not because the media is stupid (and the coaches don't do their homework).
(Everyone) collectively decided that we would struggle this year, and it will take more than a single "unexpected" performance for them to shed their preconceptions and accept reality.
Based upon what I saw this weekend, neither Bama nor Auburn is clearly better than A&M, and both are probably marginally-weaker teams. Georgia is probably marginally better at this point in the season. Maybe we will see which is the better team in Atlanta.
With that being said, if TAMU goes to Atlanta, it may well be after a loss to LSU. The head-to-head may favor LSU, but A&M is probably the stronger team overall (e.g. against common opponents). LSU will lose to one or two teams that A&M will probably beat.

I assume Alabama is still ranked second due to their previous history. They have proven their ability to continually win, and because of that they have grace by the other coaches. This doesn't excuse their poor showing, but perhaps what we witnessed Saturday won't be a precursor for the rest of the season, but a fluke!

Only five of those in top ten will remain there all year. The champion is in top five right now.
