No way you could quickly eat 9g.
I used to partake a lot and I probably only had more than 9g on my body once and that was some low quality stuff for edibles. 9 grams of good stuff is a pretty sizable amount

You're right. I have a 19 year old foster child (she's a little bit"special) whose boyfriend got pulled over and his truck searched. He handed her his stash and told her to hide it in her purse. When the officer ask her if she had anything in her purse, she told him yes (she don't know how to lie). She was arrested and taken to jail for 1.12 grams. I had to pay 500.00 to get her out. Then an additional 250.00 at court plus she's on 2 years probation.

Was that in the particular county Marshall was pulled over in?

honestly I've never heard of someone getting a ticket vs going to jail in Georgia
That's because it has never ever ever ever happened, until Nick Marshall, that I've ever heard of, and I have lived in Georgia 33 years.
I have heard of and/or witnessed where a cop will simply ignore/confiscate weed if it is a small amount and the victim, excuse me, perp is cooperative, but I've only seen this at busted house parties where the house gets searched and a kid has a joint in his pocket but otherwise wasn't making any trouble or hooting or hollaring, basically minding his own business chillin on the porch before popo showed up. Not that any of this matters, Marshall had a quarterbag plus two grams and was in his car. Never heard of a citation for that. That's Jimmy Carter shite.

so technically any trace amount of a controlled substance in your system is criminal if you are driving a car, bicycle, horse.
To be clear he had none in his system. Just in the car.

This verse has always meant a lot to southern coaches.
Matthew 18: 21-22 NIV
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? “Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Not quite this will go on his criminal record as a misdemeanor.
Not supporting the law but honestly I've never heard of someone getting a ticket vs going to jail in Georgia
I run background checks every day. A speeding ticket goes on your record much like a marijuana citation where you are allowed to get back in the car and drive away.
For those that don't understand GA law, it was SOP to release a person who showed no signs of using marijuana but did have the amount he possessed. Similar to when we break the law speeding. We get a citation but get to go home.

I mean he reportedly got pulled over with 9 grams, is weed legal now in Georgia or something?

Yeah, idk the law in Georgia, but the threshold in most states is right at an ounce...that's 28g. So he was nowhere near that.
That makes it a misdemeanor, and apparently the cops has the discretion of writing him a ticket.
This is basically what happened. Less than an oz in Georgia is a misdemeanor now. The officer has the discretion to write the ticket or arrest and he chose the ticket.
No matter what way you look at it, that's a positive thing, imo. No one should be going to jail for having 9 grams on them. That's just a waste of taxpayer money. Now if he was clearly intoxicated and swerving all over, etc. that's another story, but that wasn't the case.

Nick Marshall is single handedly revolutionizing Georgia's stance on weed.

great logic. So you think its legal in Georgia? Despite this comment?

Nick MArshall only got cited?
Let me ask you something, if he was cited for a crime of possession of MJ, your first thought was that weed is legal in Georgia? is that correct?

seriously?! ive lived in or around GA for about half the time and ive heard of numerous incidents where a well known name was let off with just a citation. Hell theres a Falcon stopped near Flowery Branch/ Buford area almost once a month... celebrities all the time. You cannot be serious.
