How many times does a preseason schedule ranking have to be proven pointless? Two of Alabama's toughest opponents in 2013 were garbage in 2012.

Toughest College Football Schedules In 2014
Playing a tough schedule makes it much harder to maintain an elite level of play the entire year.
Playing a shite schedule allows you to get it up for big games only then coast 10 weeks a year. Less injuries, less fatigue, reveal less playbook, etc.

Bama's last 5 loses have been:
Oklahoma 2013 - 14 points
AU 2013- 6 points
TAMU 2012 - 5 points
LSU 2011 - 3 points
AU 2010 - 1 point
I'm noticing a trend....

Boo hoo. Bama plays in the hardest division in football and plays at least one big name power5 team a year, just like every other SEC team. WVU was coming off putting 70 on Clemson when we scheduled them, Michigan won a sugar bowl. Va Tech had been a bcs bowl game program. Clemson as well. People whining at Bama's schedule are such hypocrites. We got shite last year for playing UK. Now we play Uf and peeps are still bitching. Cry me a river

I think everyone knows that Patton
People just like to make jokes about Bama's schedule - whether it's true or not...

Florida plays the top 2 ranked teams on the road, and 5 teams in the top 13 of the pre-season coaches poll. I'll put that up against anyone's schedule.

The difference in Bama and LSU schedule is 5 games:
Bama plays West Va., Tenn, and 3 scrubs.
LSU plays Wisc., Ky, and 3 scrubs.
The only reason the 2014 SOS shows LSU's schedule is tougher is because Bama plays Southern Miss (1-11) and LSU plays Sam Houston State (9-5).
The 2013 season SOS, Bama and LSU opponents had the identical 80-73 win/loss record.

This annoys me to no end. It's like people forget that we play in the hardest division in the country AND face a killer cross division slate and out of conference opponents. Bret is going to do amazing things and we'll be greatly improved but people won't give him credit. It's shameful.

We would be 1 on this list if the A-day game was factored in.

What do six of the twelve toughest schedules have in common?
They all play Alabama.
Alabama doesn't get to schedule themselves.
Or, to put it another way...Alabama plays Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, LSU, West Virginia, and Arkansas...and apparently that schedule isn't worth shite.

Instead of wishing they'd play some schedule that you approve in hopes that they'll lose a couple of games, just focus on your team getting the job done.
Good point. Let me go call Les and tell him to focus on this. As a fan, I have a lot of say and control of the team and when they win, I should be credited.

And bama plays AU who may be better than bama again this year and is ranked top 5, yet bama's schedule is the weakest in the SEC.

It's not. 2 top 15 teams all year. Avoids top 2 teams in the east again and all OCC cupcakes (yes WVU is a cupcake or pretty close to it).

We scheduled that WVU game after they put 70 on Clemson. Not out fault Tenn sucks. We play UF this year.
