Bama is playing Tennessee. I thought LSU was playing West Kentucky.
The amazing thing is while Alabama has played 25 SEC bye week games in the last 8 years, Auburn has played 4. Auburn has had a Bye before Bama (5) more than their total bye week games (4). Since Saban has been at Bama, Auburn has never beat Alabama without a Bye week. 2007, 2010 and 2013 were all bye weeks for Auburn and I think it was the difference in 2010 and 2013.
South Carolina has only played 3 in 8 years.
TAMU has played 5 opponents with a Bye week in 3 years while Auburn has played 4 and USCe 3 in 8 years.
That is besides the 7 OOC bye week games (including FSU in 2007).
College football is not a handicap sport.
2007 - 2014 # of SEC BYE week games

Team #
Alabama 25
LSU 14
FLA 12
UGA 10
KY 9
MISS 7
TENN 7
VANDY 6
ARK 5
MISS ST 5
TAMU* 5
AUB 4
USCe 3
MIZZ* 3

* 3 YEARS

TAMU has played more bye week games in 3 years than Auburn and South Carolina have in 8.

RECORD in BYE week games
TAMU 0-5
AUB 1-3
USCe 1-2
TENN 1-6
Did #2 Malzahn not Lose to #14 (3 loss) LSU. AU is obviously better than LSU, so it must be Malzahn is a bad game day coach !!

Did Spurrier lose to 5-7 Tennessee?
Did Stanford lose to 5-7 Utah ?

Some times you miss a field goal or turnover or play a team with a Bye week.

SECn has "Finebaum and the callers" and you choose to hate McElroy!

Simple answer. Over the last couple of years with the temporary schedule in place, LSU needed a rest to recover from the gauntlet of playing east heavy weights Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Bama not so much with the likes of Kentucky and Tennessee.

2013 Bama and LSU opponents had the same win/loss record 80-73.

2014 Bama plays West Va, Tenn and 3 scrubs
LSU plays Wisc, Ky and 3 scrubs

Amazing.....The two teams with the most SEC Bye week opponents the past 7 years (Bama 23, LSU 11) debating why they waste their BYE week canceling out the other. While South Carolina has 1 SEC Bye week in the past 7 years and Auburn has 1 in the past 4 years (5 years counting 2014) and 4 in the past 7 years.

FSU

Ohio State

Okla

Playing a tough schedule makes it much harder to maintain an elite level of play the entire year.

Playing a shite schedule allows you to get it up for big games only then coast 10 weeks a year. Less injuries, less fatigue, reveal less playbook, etc.

Note: I'm not naming teams in this post.

The difference in Bama and LSU schedule is 5 games:
Bama plays West Va., Tenn, and 3 scrubs.
LSU plays Wisc., Ky, and 3 scrubs.

The only reason the 2014 SOS shows LSU's schedule is tougher is because Bama plays Southern Miss (1-11) and LSU plays Sam Houston State (9-5).

The 2013 season SOS, Bama and LSU opponents had the identical 80-73 win/loss record.

2013 Bama and LSU opponents had the same win/loss record 80-73

and Bama was at Auburn and A&M

Saban/Bama has played 23 SEC BYE week games in 7 years.
07-4 ;08-3 ;09-3; 10-6; 11-3; 12-1; 13-3 = 23

Spurrier/USC has played 1 (ONE, UNO)SEC BYE week games in 7 years.
07-0; 08-0; 09-0; 10-0; 11-0; 12-0; 13-1 = 1

Auburn has played 4 SEC BYE week games in 7 years.
07-0; 08-2; 09-1; 10-0; 11-0; 12-0; 13-1 = 4

Having to play a good team with a BYE week a big disadvantage.

Thanks B-hama
Saban lost 8 open date SEC games out of 23 SEC open date opponents in 7 years. Spurrier played 1 open date opponent in 8 years and LOST to 5-8 Tennessee. In 2014 Spurrier plays 2 open date SEC opponents (UGA and Auburn). I don't think USC will win the EAST!
Trick question...Auburn will not play Bama without a BYE week!!!
