When, not if, will Steve Spurrier pass Bear Bryant in SEC wins?

He needed 31 the last time I looked. With an 8 game conference schedule, he could reach this record in 4 years. What do you think?

I think he will be playing golf full-time in 4 years.

you expect 31-1 over the next four years?

He's gone 6-2 the last three years. At that pace, he needs six more seasons.

No idea but I hope he is able to do it.
It would cement him as the greatest coach in SEC history.
I do not know of another modern coach who has the skill or guts to try and win at an underdog like usc.
miles would never fit in at another program.
richt would be worse than he is now.
saben would fail miserably without the rec's dirty money for recruits.
spurrier is the bawss. no debate.

No, I expect it to take him 5 years, maybe 6.

Six is best case scenario, seven more likely. Just depends if he is still around for seven more years.

If Steve is still around in 7 years, will his nurse aid responsible for changing his diapers be considered part of the coaching staff? Well she or he be allowed to recruit?

If he does, will he have more SEC wins as the USC coach than the UF coach? Will he have been at USC longer?

When you are 70, you will only be able to dream that you were in as good of shape as the HBC at that age.

Uh, no. First, "greatest" in this area is subjective, no one is ultimately cemented in it.
Second, he is currently at a .749 winning %, compared to Bryant's .764. He may need 31 more wins to match Bryant, but he only needs 3 more losses to pass him in that category.
Third, Bryant won an SEC title at Kentucky. KEN-FRICKIN'-TUCKY.

Hmm, I wonder why the REC helped him at LSU.
