Just re-watched the Iron Bowl... Auburn has to be the SEC Favorite

I don't see how anyone says otherwise.
They return pretty much the only important position on the field - their entire offensive line - except for LT. If you can block the scheme, it's basically unstoppable.
Jay Prosche might be missed - because not only was he a dominant blocker, he was extremely smart and fundamentally sound.
The difference between last year and this year for Auburn will be that those close calls they had last year will not be close games this year. They will beat LSU by double digits, and will handle Georgia.
Their only true test will be in Tuscaloosa, and I'm not convinced Saban and Smart can come up with a defensive scheme good enough to stop Malzahn's zone read run game.
At one point, Auburn ran the same exact play 5 or 6 times in a row, and there wasn't a damn thing we could do about it. It was frustrating to watch.
How any "expert" could pick anyone other than Auburn to win the SEC West is beyond me.

I know it's there, but I don't see it.

They will lose their first game and then run the table

Well better NG play from us having more depth and experience there and bigger Middle backers could actually help to negate this dive play that is the key stone in this offense. Everything runs off the dive/power run.

Writing for bleacher report isn't a real job

I don't know if Alabama can stop that defense but I know we won't be able to beat them with a "Game Manager."
Personally, I think that offense is pretty damn efficient and when they don't score, its usually AU's fault.

Yes, AU will probably have the best team in the sec this year. No to being the sec favorite.
If AU gets to Atl, fine AU is definitely the favorite.
However bama is probably second best and plays the weakest schedule in the west while AU plays the toughest.

I think the Iron Bowl decides the West again when it's all said and done.
But, I could just as easily see Auburn wind up 9-3 at the end of the regular season and the LSU/Alabama winner end up in the ATL.
Every team in the West has some fatal flaw, so it should be a very interesting year.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but if Alabama had a somewhat decent kicker they would have won the Iron Bowl by double digits. Auburn should have beaten UGA by double digits if they didn't take their foot off the gas, but it isn't like they are the overwhelming favorite. The SEC West should be incredibly competitive next year.

Thanks for keeping LSU in your mentions.

I'm liking the preseason jinx here.

Didn't Tre Mason have 164 yards and 1 TD against Bama? He's not coming back. I'm pretty sure it's not typical for a back to do that against Bama. And he put up another 300+ in the SECCG and another 190+ on FSU in the BCSCG with a TD reception as well. They will miss him.
They should be the favorite, but they also won a couple of miracle games. Things have a way of evening out...should be interesting either way.

You must set the edge and your backers can't take false steps. With that said I think they will air it out a little more this year. Alabama is the team to beat in the West this year though.

Just because you got beat by Auburn doesn't discount the fact that other teams are able to match up much better with little bro than you are.
