Actually...
Richt's biggest disaster was hiring Grantham.

As bad as the '07 Louisiana Monroe loss was, the '07 Mississippi State game hurt more for me because we should have won that shite. Up 9-3 with 1st & Goal just before half time, only to have JPW throw a dumb arse pass to a MSU player, who proceeded to return it 102 yards for a touchdown to put MSU up 10-9 at the half. That play deflated the team and they weren't the same again until the bowl game.

2005 Season includes
-Keeping Brad Smith from scrambling
-loosing to Troy
-giving scrub 4th rb the game deciding run on 4th & 1 vs Ok St
-suspending Damien Nash after Ok St game (rip)
-burning Temple's redshirt after suspending Nash for 4 carries

South Carolina wasn't on the map until 2010, but I'd nominate their 2011 Auburn loss for the biggest coaching disaster. That loss was completely inexcusable and was the reason they didn't win back-to-back divisional titles.
Spurrier also has some pretty dumbfounding calls @UT last year. If he coaches those 2 games like we know he can, and usually does, SC would be the division champs 3 out of the last 4 seasons.

Not trolling or flaming
But what games did y'all lose in 2012 that knocked you out of the winning the division? I know UF was one.

I am not sure it is on CGM, but not being ready for that fake punt when it was a situation that absolutely called for a fake punt. Man, it still hurts thinking about it.

I know 2012 wasn't one of the years...
What SEC games did you lose that year? That was my question

Well yeah. Coaching in 3 BCS bowls would be the pinnacle of most coaches careers.

Losing to UT in 2005 on a game postponed by a Hurricane in his first home game that you were winning 21-0 at halftime to a cast away QB.

Giving Cade Foster a scholarship. Yes, I'm still mad.

Richt's biggest potential disaster was saved when Louisville decided to give Grantham a raise. Keeping him on staff after last year seemed inexcusable to me.
Biggest disaster was probably not spiking the ball in the SEC Championship game against Bama. May have been the right play, but so much time went off the clock before the ball was snapped. Only getting one play at the end of that game was terrible.
