Yea no one is claiming Leesville is anything special. They're on opposites sides of LA.

Alabama.

ULM's program is more on par with Arkansas so it wasn't a big surprise.

Alabama. ULM wasn't good that year. Plus Bama had Saban and Shula beat them 41-7 the year before.

ULM was better when they played Arky and they had a interim HC.

I'd say Alabama. With all the hype that the Saban hire created and the unreal expectations that not only Alabama fans had, but the media had as well.

I agree with this.

Arkansas did start out 2012 ranked in the top 10 but most of us weren't shocked that they were awful.

I wish I could bump this thread though:

I'm calling out Glenn Guilbeau (Posted on 9/4/12 at 5:36 pm)00
He's a Louisiana sports writer who's an AP Poll voter. He has LSU ranked #1, Bama #3 which is the lowest any voter has Bama, and Arkansas #21 which is the lowest Arkansas was voted on any ballot.

I know you have to be a regular rantard, Glenn, so show yourself and try to defend your rantardness. Which hogsessed, Bama-hating corndog are you? VC? Crow Pie? You're just turrible.

What would Arkansas give for a #21 ranking now?

Turns out Guilbeau had both LSU *and* Arkansas ranked far too high in 2012.

Arkansas fired their HC and staff for losing to ULM.

Bama built their ULM losing HC a statue.

People forget the Bama had two starting offensive linemen suspended for the ULM game, the starting RB, and two defensive players. Plus DJ Hall, who set many of Alabama's receiving records, was suspended for the first half.

quote:

People forget a good bit of Alabama's 2007 team was on the 2009 squad that had SIX All Americans. Most in CFB history.

Mike Johnson and Rolando McClain were the only two of those that were major contributors on the 2007 team.
Terrance Cody and Mark Ingram was not on the team. Javier Arenas was the starting return man, but played very little on defense that year. Leigh Tiffin probably should not have been named an All American if we are being truthful. If he wasn't Van Tiffin's son I don't think he would have.

quote:

I think it was that Pick 6 that the Ala QB (cant remember his name) threw against Miss St at the end of the 1st half (I think)/ I had 2 large on Ala so believe me I remember/ Didn't that same guy fumble towards the end of the LSU game when Ala was ahead?

Yes, John Parker Wilson is the one that fumbled away the LSU game, thre the 99 yard pick six at the end of the first half at Mississippi State, threw an interception returned to the 1 against ULM, and threw another one in the endzone against Auburn.

Bama built their ULM losing HC a statue.

And the coach Arkansas replaced him with lost nine games his first season. Nick Saban has lost 10 total games since the ULM loss.

Everybody should have seen the train wreck that Arkansas was going to be after all the drama with the coaching staff.

Drama? You don't say?
