Alabama had a team that didn't get one player drafted in 2007. Arkansas was ranked #8 at the time.

Bama. 2007 Bama was a better team than 2012 Arky.

You are correct in that the 07 Alabama team was not nearly as bad as their final record. The first half of the season they played quite well and beat some good teams and played some other good teams tooth and nail.

However a team that's quit is usually beaten by everybody. The seniors on that team were absolutely toxic and beyond redemption, there was nothing that Saban could do but wait them out.

That team flat out quit after the LSU game.

It's a similar thing to Auburn in 2012. There's no way that team was nearly as bad as their final record, they played tough early in the year, but after awhile just said "f it" and quit.

This troll thread is actually a very legitimately interesting question. People forget a good bit of Alabama's 2007 team was on the 2009 squad that had SIX All Americans. Most in CFB history.

He didn't have to, eligibility rules took care of it.

A full college career playing under Mike Shula bred a type of player that was uncoachable and unwinnable.

Perfect example: After the ULM loss a reporter asked WR Keith Brown in the locker room why the team played so poorly. His response was basically "I had 6 catches for 120 yards and a TD. I didn't play bad."

Yeah, that's a winning attitude right there.

ULM in 12 was also a way better team than ULM in 07.

At the end of the day if you're half assing it and the other team is trying their tails off, you're likely to get beat.

I'd say Alabama. With all the hype that the Saban hire created and the unreal expectations that not only Alabama fans had, but the media had as well. They had played very well, going to down to the wire with Georgia, FSU and LSU in losing efforts. Also beat the shite out of the East Champ, Tennessee. After the LSU loss, the team quit.

Everybody should have seen the train wreck that Arkansas was going to be after all the drama with the coaching staff.

Arkansas was better for me because I'm from Monroe and always want the hawks to do well. When Browning scrambled for that td last, I literally and figuratively shite my pants.

I think it was that Pick 6 that the Ala QB (cant remember his name) threw against Miss St at the end of the 1st half (I think)/ I had 2 large on Ala so believe me I remember/ Didn't that same guy fumble towards the end of the LSU game when Ala was ahead? Bet he aint got no statue

That was John Parker Wilson.

He had Brett Favre's gunslinger mentality and confidence with unfortunately 0 QB'ing talent.

So horrible turnovers were his specialty.
