Michael Sam came out to his coaches and teammates during the summer of 2013, following Mizzou's 5-7 2012 season in the SEC. His sexual orientation caused so many problems and issues in the locker room, that Mizzou's 2013 season was doomed from the start and the team stumbled their way to a 12-2 season and trip to Atlanta. Gays are a huge problem in the locker room, don't you see?

Since sarcasm is clearly not one of the Rant's finer points, I'll explain:
The argument that there would be a "locker room issue" if a gay player was present is utter horse shite. My anecdote from above is a prime example. Mr. Sam's sexual orientation had no negative effects on the football team, and in fact, brought them closer together as a team and unit.

Mizzou wins the SEC if Sam doesn't divide the team.

it shouldn't matter if he is gay or not. if the dude can play football that's all that matters. unfortunately that isn't the case.

It speaks volumes about the Missouri team and school in general in how they handled all of this.

Michael Sam caused Mizzou's kicker to be distracted in OT vs us.

Let's see what happens now that the media is involved. Gonna be brutal hearing all the gay talk every time your team touches the field and does an interview.

So what you are saying is a openly gay player on your team is +7 win swing factor.

2 would be be enough to get you to the championship game on their own.

Just another reason to type, "frick you mizzerites."

Although, it really doesn't take much reason these days. All of y'all pretty-much suck.

I suppose it could be a problem, but it also doesnt have to be a problem. Depends on what squad it is I guess.

Sam is a moron and being gay has nothing to do with how stupid he is.

Did people on this board say any different? I was MIA over Sunday.

FWIW I think he's a brave guy and hope all the best for him. This country ias finally starting to move past it's discriminatory ways.

I hope I spelled that right.

I love how people with a pro homosexual agenda make a bigger deal out of this than any other group. When in all actuality the heterosexuals don't give a chit. No one makes a bigger deal out of taking it in the keester than homosexuals.

I think if you are a good player and behave appropriately in the locker room and elsewhere, nobody cares and its not a disruption. However, its gonna get real when Michael Sam is in the NFL and has some meatheads like Richie Incognito in the same locker room. Rookie hazing is gonna get a new level of meaning.
