Stout stats for sure.
The strange thing about Mason is that he just doesn't strike one as an all time running back. Just not as flashy as the ones of before.
But he's definitely up there.

Could be because of the type of offense AU uses.
But

it's as much a testament to Marshall's running ability and Gus's system... Mason doesn't have the raw abilities of those other two.
tre is probably my favorite player since cadillac... no real weakness in his game.

To be fair, though, this graphic should also include games played. 2013 AU played in 14 games while 2007 Arkansas played 13, and 1981 Georgia played 12.

Not to dispute, but if he caught a TD pass in the natty and ran a kickoff all the way back in Wash State (?) game, those numbers don't add up..Not that I'm gonna research this....
Tre, you are a beast my man.

total yards from srimmage... not all purpose yards. APY calculates return yardage.

He is a very good back, but his numbers this year were greatly helped by the system in which he ran this year. I think that is probably why you feel the way you do about him.

ITs probably because he didn't come on till way later in the season. 663 yards came in the last three games
thats over a third of it.
Also Hershel Did it in 2 less games, but with more carries

In the Iron Bowl, SEC CG and the BSCNCG --that's more impressive than the original graphic IMO

Had a third of his carries in those 3 games as well. 109 carries in 3 games! Was a workhorse for sure.

Tre is where he is at today because of heart. He doesn't possess the freak athletic talent of the other two, although still very talented. He is like a Rudy with actual athletic ability. Gonna be fun to watch him on Sundays.

His yardage was lower in the first third of the year because we split carries between him, CAP, and Grant as well.
