Hi everyone. Convince me that I shouldn't be worried about the IB.

Thanks for having me on. Been lurking for a while, finally decided to join. Now that I'm here, I have to admit that I'm really worried about Nov. 30th, for various reasons. One is the parallels to 1989. Another is Malzhan's amazing luck factor. And the the similarity in build up to the 2011 LSU game. And Scarbo's latest article didn't help.

I don't think they can run on us.

They won't be able to run on Bama like they can on everyone else.
There is no reason to worry about their passing game.
Their run D is arse.

The only thing I'd be worried about if I were a Bama fan is Gus pulling off a great trick play or two. Even the best defense can be baited into the wrong move sometimes.
But in terms of overall talent and discipline, Bama has a clear edge, and trick/unconventional plays will only work for so long before the superior team asserts itself.

The reason I'm not worried is because Alabama has better football players.

Alabama will hold Aub to less than their average in scoring. Auburn will allow Alabama to score their average. The result is Alabama wins.

It will be a competitive game. The don't have the numbers on the line to stop us.

They're a good team. We should be worried.

In 2009 and 2010, Auburn had 2 plays go for 100+ total yards and 2 touchdowns.

If we can stop the run, we have them stopped period

Nothing wrong with being worried IMO. Auburn is a decent team with a great run game and perhaps the greatest linebacker to ever play American tackle football in Holland.
Ok, the last part was a joke.

Auburn has luck. Luck is a powerful thing. After the 2010 BCSCG I said that Gene Chizik was the luckiest man in America. I was wrong. Gus is the lucky one. And that's not even hating on Gus, he just always seems to get the good bounces.

Auburn fans are mighty quick to jump on things...they're already convinced Gus > Saban.

Don't worry Nov. 30 will bring them back down to earth.

Auburn does have some good players. on both side of the ball.
But so does Bama. it should be a good game.
honestly, there just is no way to definitively quell your worries, strange and lucky plays can and will happen.
Bama "should" win, but you still have to play the game.

OP, do not let an article by Kevin Scarbinksy make you nervous. Kevin loves the Aubs because when he moved to Birmingham (1980's) covering the barn was his first assignment.
Kevin's articles are always pro-barn. He loves to stir the pot and is a muckraking journalist. At the end of the season he will be polishing Saban's Knob once again...
