Let's just tell it like it is. However many Bama has, it is more than any of your schools.

It is indisputable that Bama leads in SEC Titles also. They also have more wins

In conclusion, stop whining about your inferiority and STFU..

Has anyone mentioned that Alabama's 1941 Houlgate System title was awarded retroactively in 1954??

Just look up one post.
If it’s ballpark, close, they will claim it. Now with 21.

By the 200th year of college football, we will have 600 claimed champions.

That is just silly

I happily admit that the 1941 title is sketchy, but your particular argument is stupid. ALL titles prior to 1992 were awarded retroactively.

He's basically stating that before the bowl coalition series there was no assured way to win it on the field.

So basically voters were "retroactively" rewarding someone arbitrarily, the only difference is the time frame - was it a week later or several years later, but either way prior to 1992 it wasn't really won on the field.

Was it even won the field then though? We have a trophy on campus for beating FSU in the Sugar Bowl (96 season) but I'm not sure if it was actually awarded on the field that night. The giant crystal "cup" thingy on the base says THE BOWL ALLIANCE, CHAMPIONSHIPS OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Which is weird that championships is plural.

I've watched the full game on YT (I was barely alive when it actually happened) and I don't remember seeing any sort of trophy presentation.

Not all titles, even if you go with this exceedingly spurious definition of "retroactive".

USC was awarded a national championship trophy on the field of the 1932 Rose Bowl.

The MacArthur Bowl was directly awarded to the winners of the 1972 Orange Bowl and 1973 Sugar Bowl.
