Beer Bryant Is Dan Mullen the only SEC Coach gone after this year? MSU has 5 Seniors on their two deep, Offense and Defense combined. He's going no where.
How does that happen? Are they loaded with juniors?

how stupid is tech's AD?... it's like the Paul Hewitt situation all over again...
Techs AD did not hire CPJ. That guy is the AD at Clemson.(He is on the college playoff selectoin committee, too.)
CPJs contract is not like Hewitts.

Extra bad recruiting in 2010 and 2011.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles W

Five or six wins is not out of the question. Could be as many as 8.

Arkansas Razorbacks L - W Again. Please. It's at home.

7-9 Wins. This is the year to judge Mullen. Underachieve after this "down" year and most will have had enough.

I wouldn't get rid of Mullen yet. He's been to three straight bowls and won two of them (including humiliating Michigan a few years back by dropping 50+ on them). He could possibly go to another this year (it will be a bad one, but it's better than no bowl). He also beat Ole Miss three years in a row at one point and has a winning record against them. Isn't that sort of the measure of success for a State coach?
State is a hard place to win at given the competition and facilities of the schools in the SEC. It hasn't helped that he has had to face the Heisman winner, the defending national champion and LSU (who is like kryptonite to State) the last few years. Of course, he'll face those teams every year, but anyway... State has pretty consistently had one of the hardest college football schedules while he has been there.
He hasn't had a ton of embarrasing games either. LSU this year ended up looking bad, but it was a very good game in the 3rd quarter. His teams tend to play respectably, and although he hasn't had success in the West, he has had some near upsets that got away at the end and has won against UGA and UF in the East. Overall, I think he's done a pretty good job.

Competition - Yes. Facilities - NO. He now has some of the best facilities in the country outside of total capacity at DWS.

Other than his first year getting shut out by Ole Miss,
Didn't happen. Beat Houston Nutt in his first year of winning three straight. A team that was ranked top 10 to start the season?

Yes, but sometimes pretty good just doesn't cut it.

I think Mullen beat the rebels his first, second and third year.
Only loss to them was last year. At least that's what my math says.

That's true...That's my bad. That was Croom that got shut out in his last year (no wonder it was his last year...)

I'm talking about the stadium too - although the stadium is way nicer than it used to be, it's still small and not big-time like the other stadiums. You know how kids are...they like to be in front of the most people, etc.

As a fan, I understand where you're coming from and the desire to be the best. But from an outsider's perspective, he's done at least enough to earn another year.

at best Miss State is #6 in the SEC West and #10 in the SEC as a whole facility wise.
so yea, they are behind in terms of who they compete against for recruits.

Easy to say after State softened them up by damaging their feet as they laid down in that game.
