I hate these types of threads myself so if any admins want to delete I don't have any issue with it.

I've got a very close friend who's brother works in the compliance department(i know, i know). He said that they have had quite a few off the record conversations with the NCAA about this well before the story leaked. NCAA has already cleared Bama.

Everything you hear from here on out will be nothing but theater and grandstanding.

Take it. Leave it. I don't care.

I'll allow it.

ETA: It really is comforting to read that.

Wasn't worried, this only makes me more sure there is nothing to worry about.

The John Phillips statement that recently came out would seem to support this. Appears compliance has been on this since at least May and Phillips has at least a plausible explanation as to why he paid Luther Davis.

My cousin's girlfriend's brother in law knows a guy whose sister works in the NCAA. It's true.

Forgot.. Hey Coach is on now

His weekly radio show appearance from Buffalo Wild Wings in Tuscaloosa begins at 7 p.m. We'll update his comments as he makes them.

-- The first question includes putting Johnny Manziel on his butt.

-- Saban says it's about being aggressive and the Alabama defense has a better idea of how to handle it than a year ago.

-- It's not about a guy, Saban said. It's about the whole team.

-- Without losing the opener, Alabama still learned a lot about themselves in Week 1, Saban said.

-- It's getting hard er and harder to get through to the younger players because of the attention they get, Saban said. It was in response to a question about the hardest part of the "process."

-- "It takes time and it takes patience." ... "People learn better when they fail."

-- Saban said it's been hard getting this group to create its own identity.

-- It's been "a bit of a challenge" to get the right focus this season, Saban said.

-- Saban said they've adjusted some of the players' diets to prepare to play in the heat in College Station.

-- The up-tempo offense will add about 20 snaps to what a normal game would include. That means adding several players to rotation -- many of them will be young.

-- The A&M offensive line is strong, Saban said.

-- "This is a really good team," Saban said.

-- "I know the one guy gets a lot of attention, the quarterback and he deserves it," Saban said. But the rest of the Aggies are good too.

-- Question from a young lady in the crowd: "Why to you beat everybody?"

-- Saban answering that one now.

-- Harold from Georgia just called Saban "Nick." He better be ready for criticism.

-- The Aggies will play between four and five WRs a game, so Alabama will have only one LB on the field.

-- The spread forces Alabama to show its hand defensively and then they decide if they run or pass. "They're very perimeter oriented."

-- "If you don't play six defensive backs, you have to show them everything you're doing."

-- Landon Collins will be the sixth DB on the field.

I believe in theory you are correct , even if you had no inside source.

I read yesterday somewhere , that the Bama administration has been investigating this since May and working with the SEC , who no doubt has been in touch with the NCAA and this is how the NCAA thinks amateur athletic programs should work ( hand in hand ) with the NCAA rules committee.

As opposed to.....

1. Auburn who lawyers up.

2. Texas A&M who lawyerd up and allowed JFF to do the same.

I think the NCAA looks at CNSs program as a model of what college athletics should be about.

CNS has brought Bama's football APR way up and has had many academic A-A in the last few years.Any program with this many prime-time NFL bound athletes is going to have parasitic agents buzzing around trying to get clients.

WE ARE BAMA NATION , AND WE ARE DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY.

One source is one source though... but I'd rather it be a positive story than a negative one.

Nothing against your source BUT we're not cleared till the NCAA comes out with a statement. If we were already cleared I believe the NCAA would nip this in the bud since they have been beaten up so much lately! It would look much better for them to come out and say we have already investigated this and clear Alabama's name rather than wait a few months....IMO
