but what is the point of the question?

That offense just moves too darned fast, just ain't fair I tell you. If Saban don't like it, it's wrong, just ain't godderned football.

Now if you're running a two minute drill, Saban thinks that's just fine. If you ain't, it's no longer football, you see?

Certainly more than that abortion of a pro style offense we had last year did.

It got us 30 in Gus' 3 years at Auburn, including 3 bowl wins, an SEC championship and a national championship. I'm willing to give it another shot.

highest ratings draw in cable history.

That has more to do with the game being competetive. All others on cable have been blowouts.

I was listening to the head of the SEC Officiating on the radio this morning.

They have 3 seconds to react.

That's not ample time, to recognize, send people on, and get people off.

I actually welcome more fake injuries or "cramps"

They have roughly three seconds to decide if they are going to sub or not. They should already know, that is why they get paid.

they have more than three seconds to send people on the field and get them off

Looks like you mis-interpreted the rule then.

The defense has 3 seconds to react. As soon as any player steps on the field for a substitution, the referee "activates the substitution rule by extending his hands" and allows them reasonable time to match up, position their players and allow substitutes to leave the field.

While I agree with your position that if the O subs the D should have a chance to react, I think you misunderstand how the rule is enforced a bit. The D has 3 seconds to start the substitution process after the O has subbed. If they are sending someone on or off the ref will stand over the ball until they complete the substitution.

After re-watching the Chik-fil-a Bowl a week or so ago, I think Saban's comments on the HUNH are just a troll on Miles' defensive strategy.

The HUNH is legal so no point in bitching about it. I wouldn't want Alabama using it but it's fun to watch other teams run it. Obviously SEC teams who use the HUNH have studs on their teams but I can't shake the notion that teams use it because they don't want to put in the work and want an easier way to win. Which is perfectly legit, I just don't really like that.

You suck at listening.....

The offense cannot substitute or feign substitution and create a disadvantage for the defense.

The Rule is 3-5-2e.

Running more plays is easier?

Is't the point to win. Why do it the hard way then?

how is using HUNH not putting work in? The amount of offseason conditioning is ridiculous along with the fact that you really have to be on point if you want to run an offense that quickly. I don't understand the hate toward a different style of play. Does running a 4-2-5 over a 3-4 mean we wanna be soft or maybe we just have a different philosophy on how to win

It's hard to develop I championship caliber traditional QB. It's hard to develop a dominant left tackle and offensive linemen. It's not hard to find a buncha fast guys. It's not hard to simply get them the ball as fast as possible. And above all else it isn't that hard to find a guy to run some of the new HUNH systems.

It's exaggerated in HS but just look what it's become. Put a freak athlete at QB and watch em score 60 points. Teams the run the HUNH are very systemy(that's not a word) and can just plug guys in a go. It's much more difficult to win the way Alabama does it.
