Opponents you wish your team hadn't scheduled? Past, Present, or Future?

Off-season thread no doubt but the UT @ Oregon game had me wondering if UT wish it didn't have this game on the docket. I'm not sure when this game was originally scheduled but the timing could not have been worse for the Volunteers.
Its still a great opportunity for UT to play on a big stage and keep their name fresh in the minds of the CFB world despite their recent slumps but I couldn't help but think if I were a UT fans "man why couldn't we have this game at a different time?"
For SC I don't mind playing ECU but we scheduled them for a 5-game series. 2 in Cola, 2 in Charlotte, and 1 @ECU. We've already gotten 2 out of the way and we pushed one back to make room for UNC but in any case I see no reason to have a 5 game series with these guys.
Also this seasons @UCF, nothing really to gain, a lot to lose, should win but UCF is no slouch.
So what say the rant? Maybe the timing worked out poorly, maybe the opponent was too weak and it damn near feels like a waste of a Saturday going out to the game?

The only think I remember about that game was that both teams would have had to vacate the W correct?

forgot about that. That game never happened.
I have nothing to add to the thread then.

I'd much rather be playing someone other than Virginia Tech. If we win, it's because Tech isn't what they used to be. If we lose, we aren't as good as we thought. It's kind of a lose-lose.

That and 'Bama-VT only played a couple of years ago so it loses its luster as a "good OOC match-up, better see this while we can"

boise in 2011, colorado in 06 and 10, Okie lit in 07 and 09.
We won at home against colorado and ok state but they were really quite pointless/meaningless series/roadtrips against historically bad opponents. Typical of the Damon Evans regime.

That game may have given a certain other team the impression that the option would work against the UA D.....

I know it didn't really serve a purpose considering UGA doesn't need exposure to try to go after OK / CO recruits or some crap like that but I'm envious of UT / UGAs scheduling.
ASU, Colorado, Ok. St for UGA, Oregon, Cali, UCLA, ND for UT, Washington, Oregon, WVU, for LSU, etc.
The last time SC played a regular season OOC opponent outside of the South was decades ago when we were independent. Sometime in the '80s when we played at Pitt, WVU, or ND, or something.
The furthest we've gone OOC wise since joining the SEC was @UVA in 2002. We schedule some old ACC rivals such as NC State and UNC, which is all well and good but I enjoy intriguing OOC matchups.

Both games were years ago, both SC and UGA were way worse than they are now but it wasn't that long ago that SC lost to CUSA team UConn and UCF beat UGA.

It was a good game, and the stats don't tell the whole story; Georgia Southern gained 121 yards and 14 points on an 82 yard touchdown run and 39 yard play-action pass. Take away those two huge plays, and Georgia Southern's offensive stats are weak: 220 yards and 0 points weak.

Should've kept ooc in-state like all the cool kids do.

Navy in 2011
@UCF in 2013
Wofford any and every time
In a related note I wish we hadn't cancelled the Georgia Tech series, although it was a ways down the road

I see your pattern, but hopefully the triple option at GT will be long gone by then.

Probably Citadel in '04. That was the main argument for us not getting in. Apparently beating a team by only 30 isn't good enough.
