Is it possible that Mccarron was only benching 185 when he got to Bama?

They said this several times on ESPN yesterday. I find this hard to believe. I played high school football as a very small school. We did not have a great weight program. And I don't know if anyone on the team that wasn't a freshman was maxing under 200 lbs.

Pretty likely. He had zero upperbody developement in those beach pics a few years ago and he is tall and pretty skinny.

Last year he was really skinny too even in the BCS game.

From that pic of him in fan day, his arms looked significantly bigger though. He may have gotten on some juice in the past 6 months or so, who knows and really don't care.

It depends. Are you looking for a member of the weight lifting team or an All-American quarterback?

To quote the former Secretary of State "What difference does it make?"

According to this, Manziel was only benching 210 as a Sr. in High School.

I find it really easy to believe. He was skinny as Hell. If he was lazy in the weight room, 185 could easily be his max. 185 was higher than my bench max my senior year that lifted weights for 4 years, but I was a 5'8" 145 lb soccer player.

Man,do y'all have it going great or what? Who cares if a flag girl can beat him on the Quad? Joker has won back to back NCs and is favored for a third.

I worked out with John Parker Wilson in the spring after his senior year of football.

He was repping with 165 5 times on bench press.

Quarterbacks in high school don't have to be beasts.
