The Rise and Fall of Texas A&M..

I have never liked the guy because it seems like anytime someone is in trouble he comes running with his "sources." His "sources" are usually wrong

So like 2004 all over again. Auburn serves as the sacraficial lamb to show the faults in the system. Damn we're altruistic.

Any lawyers have a better perspective?
A&M just hired the best niche firm for this type of case yesterday. I'm sure if there is any hope, they'll find it. If they don't find it, then it is because it couldn't be found. They've got a reputation to consider and "losing" the Manziel case doesn't help it.

Here's one of his relatives who got in trouble.
Was looking for another article I read about his family that was pretty interesting and came upon that.

I am sure though they will need as much evidence as the NFL had for bounty gate. I mean, we all know they did it, but there was no true evidence. Yet they still handed out suspensions left and right.
But in Bountygate they had video of coach Williams telling players to "kill" the other guys and such in teem meetings, had "secret" sources in the locker room who admitted to a money pool and video evidence from the games themselves that showed a clear intent to injure even after the play.
IMO, if there is absolutely no evidence of him taking the money he'll get off.

So what actual evidence has actually been given to the NCAA? Non of the brokers will talk, and the video was shot without consent in a state where that is illegal. Somebody really wants this to happen without any proof whatsoever in the hands of the investigating body.

I agree but JOE is spearheading this operation obviously
Im not believing anything ESPN puts out unless its actual video or audio

This whole thing just makes me sad.
I love watching talented people play their sport with passion, etc.
I want JM to play. I'm not certain he will
If not....Our loss

Negative. OTL is spearheading the operation. Those reporters have been working on this for a while. They aren't going to just hand over their hard work to Joe.

but I can't imagine any suspension would hold up under litigation without ANY sort of proof he took money.

The NCAA DGAF if the tape is legal or not.
That said, I still see enough wiggle room for Manziel to be on the field this year.

Trust me, I loved every minute of the situation. But they had no players who actually came out on record saying money was exchanged and telling players to kill the other team during a motivational speech does not equal bounty.
It will be interesting to see what happens if the videos never get released.

I want Manziel to play cause he's fun to watch. But he is an ego trip it seems and it is going to cost him potentially
Posted on 8/6/13 at 2:41 pm to bamasgot13
I haven't seen anything about OTL. All I hear on ESPN is "our joe schad has seen two videos." maybe otl has more evidence and I just haven't seen it.

A couple things people are forgetting...
1: The video was taken in a state where non-consent is grounds for lawsuits and inadmissibility. Will the NCAA be willing to take action based on something with a valid loophole with which A&M could counter? Seems risky.
2: Nobody has said money is ever mentioned or seen in the video. Will they be willing to suspend him for saying "I was never here"?
If someone provides evidence that Manziel said he was expecting money or evidence he actually received money, it's a slam dunk. Until then it's very up in the air.
