I don't see Joeckel starting. It would be either Davis or Hill I would think

I would think that there would still have to be SOME evidence of a money exchange to suspend him. I know it isn't a court of law, but I can't imagine any suspension would hold up under litigation without ANY sort of proof he took money.

You know that, and I know that, but I'd really like to hear his time frame.

I actually think for Manziel's pro stock it's better if he never plays another college down. There's no way he and Clowney can live up to their hype last year so the silver lining for JFF if suspended is that he won't have to risk injury or playing well below expectations, however a ton more free time for him could spell complete disaster.

Daddy Manziel is well known to be incredibly crooked. My best friend's wife is from Tyler, and has some very interesting stories about the Manziel's.

I see that the grandfather made it big in the oil business (and also claimed to be the world cockfighting champion of 1983, badass), but what does the father do?

So your going to trust JOE SCHAD one of the most least credible reporters at ESPN? We have seen this before and nothing ever happened. ESPN has there own agenda

I expect that by the end of the day, A&M will probably release a statement about internal investigation and suspend him. Everett and Raven who are arguably more important (lack of defensive depth) were suspended from all team activities this Summer, and Everett has been working out at the local gym.

The only reason he hasn't been suspended yet is that legal counsel is probably talking to the University about their options. He wasn't getting anything but minimal reps in practice anyway.

Such a shame - he definitely did it. Don't know if it can be proven, but it isn't a far reach to assume he did it.

I am sure though they will need as much evidence as the NFL had for bounty gate. I mean, we all know they did it, but there was no true evidence. Yet they still handed out suspensions left and right.

I would think this. He can practice throughout the investigation with no problem. Playing is the problem - IF all that's been said is true. They will practice him until the moment it is obvious they won't be able to play him. If he stops practicing then I would think A&M knows he's going to be (at least for a period) ineligible.

If that happens, they will - and SHOULD - apply for reinstatement after he repays the $$ and is suspended for a period of time. I hope it goes away and he plays, though.

Interesting, ESPN REALLY wants it to be true. So if it is, then maybe he won't play this year. Not going to cry about it. I like our other QBs also.

But here is my question:

Said tape provides Factual evidence of him signing autographs in a CT hotel room, but not of him accepting money. He could just be telling the broker anything to get him to go away.

Unless he said, "pay me this much", I don't think saying "I didn't do a signing with you" necessarily implies payment was received.

Any lawyers have a better perspective?

Regardless of what happens, it's obvious that Money Badger took the coin. He may still get off (I think its 50/50 at this point given that we still have solid legal council) but he did it.

Supposedly, oil. But people in Tyler will allude to conspiracy theories involving racketeering. They call his family the "Tyler Mafia". I have no idea the validity of that assertion, just reporting what they're accused of.

His granddad was a boxer back in the day which was tied to a lot of mafia and money shite. But he was also a wildcatter. They definitely have royalties and leases all over east and west Texas. It might have started off as dirty money, but it was laundered with Texas tea.

Looks like I am going to have to dig up the old ATPB post on NCAA rules infraction cases, actual burden of proof etc. joe. Shad just said the broker from the bama game incident told him he paid him 6k and was trying to sell the video. Houston we are beginning to have a problem.

Have you not learned anything yet? You are the same dude who posted this shite about Auburn:

quote:

He is on the payroll of Auburn alumini through a network of phoney African Americam churches and front groups that they use to pay recuiters aka Kenny Rodgers. Some of theer groups are paid by agents. This one is Lowders. Luper's dad is a bishop or something in this network just like Cams dad. The big preacher that bonks little boys in Atlanta is part of it too and under investigation. The Aubbie fraction funnels money too a front group in Chicago that sends it back to these guys, who get it to the families etc. The NCAA and FBI are all over this as they discovered the original slush accounts in the Colonial Banking/Farkas/McGregor investigations through 18 months of wiretaps. There are at least six people that have flipped and many more are expected. Even McGregor is exploing it. Lee Farkas is working on a deal. The trial dates are all in April. They state there are still investigations underway but have agreed to give 6000 or so more transcipts to current defendants in USA vs MCGregor, which makes people think more indictments including Lowder are coming before then. The NCCA investigator recently ask the reported contractors on one of Cecil's church about them getting money from Chicago which shows the FBI is sharing some info. (google it)This network has been used for money laudering for years and come under FBI sight about year before all the Cam crap.

The Louisiana State Tax Commission and state police should launch their own investigation. If they did Mr. Nelson would move to Chicago within months.

All this is laid in in detail in As the plains burn.

It will not stop Auburn from beating the Ducks. It will stop them from being competetive in fottball for a long time. Auburn is just a side show in the investigtion and will go down because Lowder, and half it BOT are about to be indicted. This is all no secret, and half the lawyers politicians in Montgomery are scared to death right now, as everyone is one the damn tapes as they had the largest lobbying firm in the state tapped for over a year. For reference, It is 100x bigger than the Edwards investigations were in Louisiana in the 80-90s.

The political landscape in Alabama is about to change big time and Auburn going down is just part of it. That is why the passed that ethics bill that have been fighting over for years so quickly. Everyone wants cover. A lot of this was done though PACs To PACs,

These are the tapes I told you guys about long ago. Not the stupid cam tapes.

I think Paul sells cars... that was the impression I got from the wright thompson peice... could be wrong about that though.

Paul comes across as a sleezy car salesman, so maybe that's where I got it from and he's not actually in the business...
