1. Tennessee - the volnation and volquest contingent are quickly convincing themselves that we're on the brink of 8 or 9 wins. Quick side note, we're not.

2. Ole Miss - has there ever been more hype for a 6-6 team. Freeze is an elite coach, and I think he'll prove that over time. What he did last year was incredible, but the rebels aren't there yet. 6-6 or 7-5, again. It's another step in the right direction, but expectations will cause people to perceive it as a disappointment.

3. Kentucky - Stoops was a homerun hire, he's proving it on the recruiting trail. unfortunately, none of those four stars can play this year. it's going to be bad, real bad.

4. Arkansas - The most proven hire of the offseason. Respectability isn't far away, it's just not happening in 13-14. The hogs have done a complete 180 in terms of offensive philosophy without the talent to match the new system. I think they're a safe bet for 7th in the West.

Why the hell do people think Arkansas fans have such high expactions

Most have said they expect 6 wins but would be happy with 5

I agree, except maybe replace UK with AU. UK fans will take any modest improvement and be happy with it. I think Stoops will provide that. AU has to be better, but I think there is a growing contingent of AU fans thinking 8 wins is likely rather than the ceiling. :negibarner:

I'll personally jack slap the frick out of any OM fan on the rant for having expectations of anything more than 7 reg season wins.

Show yourselves so I can spank the frick out of you...

I would say A&M fans but they do have a lot to be excited about.

And I'm sure many of the gumps are expecting another national championship so they may need to bring it down a notch.

Er, no. Not one UK fan (sans UKWildcatsFAN, because we all have "that" guy) has reasonably predicted more than 3-4 wins with this schedule. I don't know of anyone off message boards that's predicting more than that either. I can think of at least 5-6 more teams than Kentucky that are pumping sunshine right now.

IMHO

1. Ole Miss - will be better, 8-4 a possibility
but some fans have too high expectations.
2. UG - 8-4 will turn expectations to anger
3. Tenn - 6-6 bowl ? will be determined by the Vandy and UK games but headed the right direction

LSU fans have this ridiculous expectation that we will lose 1 game this year.

Reality is that we will go all the way.
I hate unrealistic expectations.

I hope you can see that the hype isn't coming from Ole Miss posters on this board.

Arkansas fans literally have zero expectations for the upcoming season. Obviously we think we have expectations down the line. We're fans.

Hands down Tennessee and Auburn. Both will go 5-7 this year.

I agree.

I would like to add that AU fans should expect a little more from their team. 8-9 wins should be expected IMO. I really like a lot of their talent and the "fit", both offensively and defensively.

1. LSU. Bowl eligibility is going to be a struggle this year.

I don't talk football with Tennessee fans. They no too little.

Ole Miss improves their record

Vandy takes step back

Tennessee should improve just based on having a viable Offensive and Defensive line although the QB and WR situation is bleh.
