Since there's a new thread
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Manziel's release a statement today about the article considering they can't be thrilled with the way they came across in it.

It's funny how the media can, over time, seriously shape people's opinions about someone even when the public knows the media is doing it. The fact that he couldn't speak to the media freshman year has only accelerated the process.
He's been built up, and now he's being torn down. I almost feel bad for him.

This is all you need to know about Manziel:
"Tuesday night in College Station, in the aftermath of the tweet, he was supposed to watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals at a local restaurant named Chimy's. The game started, and he stayed at home. His personal assistant, high school buddy Nate Finch, known to all as Uncle Nate, called a visiting reporter to explain."

Can we just get a johnny hangover board so all of these threads can live there and not clutter up the rant?

Cliff Notes:
Johnny's life is toxic in College Station, e has to get away from time to time.
He has a bad temper, breaks phones all the time and swears like you'd expect.
His Mercedes was bought buy his dad with the families oil money. He didn't want him doing anything stupid to get his dream car. The car got keyed.
The tweet he sent out is because the cops "harassed him about an illegal parking job outside his house. The cops knocked on his door and woke him and his roommates up over it.
"While Johnny created this new reality -- which offers many seductive pleasures he's grown to love -- the new reality is now in charge. Everything he does is influenced by it. Funny, to wake up one day and be a marionette in your own life."
""I'm tired of people," he tells his aunt, "in the worst way. I love you, and I'm sorry for saying that. But I am so tired of people."
The kid is very overwhelmed with his lifestyle but it is self inflicted. He is mentally a very week kid, seems unstable.

Johnny has a personal assistant? Wow.
Maybe his parents should have taught him a little humility. Why does he have so much anger? I have no sympathy for that kid.

Manziel is the Justin Bieber of college football. Gotta turn into a bad boy to keep the fame and attention he already had ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)

quote:
In the spring, the school and his parents got him to a therapist.
The counselor told Johnny to build walls around himself, set boundaries. First, his parents' autographs should be limited to half an hour a week. The therapist told him to get off Twitter.
After two or so visits, because of a hectic schedule, Johnny stopped going.
IMHO, this says a lot.
Anyone who sincerely seeks guidance due to their life becoming unmanageable, then turns right around and rejects the guidance or help, they will invariably become a victim of their own poor choices unless they have somehow figured it out on their own.
quote:
The Manziels are tired of a coach getting a million dollars and their son getting an appointment with a therapist.
I'm thinking the entire family needs a therapist.

I think I've posted in a thread about Manziel like once ever but damn this kid is turning into a hand full. He is not handling fame well. Like the poster above me mentioned he seems like he's a couple weeks away from hanging out with Lindsey Lohan and Amanda Bynes.

Just read the article. I now feel sorry for manziel. Obviously I still think he is a jackass who needs to grow up and learn that at 20 years old, whether you are super famous or a no body, you have to follow the rules of society. But I really think that his parents are inhibiting his ability to grow into a responsible adult.
examples:
1. Airing out all that dirty laundry in the article for which JM is no where near equiped to handle the criticism he will receive. This keeps JM in the spotlight, which he needs a break of for awhile.
2. Ordering his boy drinks at resturaunts when he feels that JM has a drinking problem. Only sends the message that ultimately Mr. Manziel is alright with how Jm drinks.
3. Giving generally awful advice and destroying in JMs eyes the credibility of the superiors in JMs life (Sumlin, TAMU AD Admin, NCAA, the Police). How is JM supposed to respect his superiors when they have no credibility to JM.
