Louisville Capital One Standings -
Men -5th, could win it with Baseball title.
Women - 21st
Not Flaming Mizzou, but did the SEC/ B12 let one get away with Louisville. Im sure Ketucky would not have let it happen, but they sure are looking like a all around good program.

This is why they are joining the ACC...and the fact that they dont bring any new markets.
Mizzou brings more money.

Rather have had them, FSU, UNC and UVA than Mizzou.... But once again, $$$ drives the expansion... Huge St. Louis media market...

Football is king of this conference. All decisions are made based on football. While Mizzou isn't a football power it is a new market to expand TV ratings. Louisville does not provide that.

Are there really that many people watching mizzou sports in st louis? I feel like it's basketball season and a big mizzou football game or two and then it's Cardinals

Perfect photo to describe that fanbase.

Its more that there are now 5 million tvs in bars and homes that will have ESPN/CBS SEC games with advertising being shown. Thats where the money comes in.

I think the Big 12 missed out on the Cards
a) more midwestern
b) solid money machine
c) rival for WVU
d) with UC would have given them 12 teams and a CCG
If the SEC was not going to overlap and they already passed on Clemson and Florida State then Louisville was not a good SEC addition.

I understand all the reasons why Mizzou, tv markets and all that ...
but from a stricly competetive on the feild/ court veiwpoint... Lousiville seems to be on the rise.

Well, yea, I totally get where the value comes from but my question is whether or not that area can be counted accordingly. I don't get the idea that St. Louis, MO is like ATL, JAX, BHAM, Nashville etc that naturally have all SEC programming on. I feel like out there the passion for Mizzou is similar to many midwestern programs, a filler until the Cards or their basketball is back on. Granted this is as much a question as a comment, don't let my lack of respect for Mizzou fool ya.

No. Just HELL no. The hate is strong....with good reason. Santa's photo doesn't even begin to describe that fan base.

They will now...even if the Redbirds are deep in the post season.

I dunno but that athletic dept. is on fire right now.

I think Missouri will be an asset to the SEC and become much more competitive over the next 7 or 8 years.

B12 should have added them more than WVU,
WVU made no sense at all, had to be a dehind the scenes deal.

No, expansion is about markets not teams. Louisville adds nothing to the SEC that they don't already have.
