re: Do you like your permanent cross divisional rival?

I like the UK/State matchup. Would not call it a rivalry, but we've played some hellacious games over the years. Starkville is a very underrated road trip. Hell of a lot more fun than it used to be, and you can actually spread out and BREATH there. State fans make a good showing in Lexington, tend to be very congenial, and stuff those effing cowbells if they aren't sitting in the visitors section.
re: Horse betting advice?
Posted by George Blanda on 7/4/15 at 6:45 pm to SwaggerCopter
Lone Star is nag racing. Just get a program and look at the past performances. If you see any horses that have run for any real money at real tracks, bet them. Real tracks= Keeneland, Churchill, Belmont, Saratoga, Santa Anita, Del Mar, Oaklawn, Fairgrounds, Gulfstream. Bet the class.
re: Alabama 7-0 and Kentucky 6-0, how old were you when this happened?
Posted by George Blanda on 7/2/15 at 8:47 am to Cheese Grits
I was a freshman at UK. Won the NCAAA tourney that spring. Pretty good freshman year.
re: Can Kentucky top Florida in 2015??

Looking that schedule and your note that the Tennessee game is Breeder's Cup weekend. Its also Halloween. That is going to be the most insane weekend in the history of Lexington. Top it off with the fact that Pharaoh will likely be in the Breeder's Cup Classic at around football game time on Saturday. A city of 350,000, with an infrastructure to match, will be as screwed up and congested as Oxford, Mississippi is on an Ole Miss football weekend.

Secratriat. GOAT.no question. Phoraoh the second GOAT. The time, especially the last quarter.

Is there such a thing as nervous confidence? If so, that's where I'm at.
I'm wondering how many people posting on this thread have seen a Triple Crown winner in their lifetime. I still can't believe I saw three in a five year period.

Double bump.
I have the Belmont PP's for tomorrow if anyone wants them. E-mail me. jsmcdon@ix.netcom.com.
I had a long court hearing this morning and came home and took a nap this afternoon. I dreamed something similar to Secretariat's Belmont. We'll see.

I think he's going to do it. There is just something different about this horse. The way he carries himself, how down to business he is. He knows what he is, which is a badass. Reminds me of Zenyatta. The way he finished that last workout at Churchill, ears pricked, ready for more.
I think we will see history made Saturday. I was in high school and college for Secretariat, Slew, and Affirmed. Would never have believed at that time it would be 37 years until we saw it again.

Cal and Stoops are both Catholic. They both go to Christ the King in Lexington. Cal goes to mass EVERY morning.

The character is played by Darrell Hammond, formerly of Saturday Night Live.

You most certainly did have escalators, in the late 80's.

Overall, Gainesville. Wow. Just wow.
Special awards:
Georgia. Decrepid stadium and horrible traffic back to Atlanta.
Nashville. That stadium. The Holiday Inn Horror Hotel right in front of it.
Ole Miss: Paying $400.00 a night for a shitty room at the worst Days Inn in America (and feeling glad to get it) just sucks. And traffic. Jeez. Get some infrastructure.
Really like UT, MSU, Alabama. LSU too, except for that time some drunk corn dog pushed my Mother down one of those stupid escalators.
Anyone who puts Lexington on this list isn't doing it right.

Tale of Vicodan screwed me out of everything.
Pharoah has already won at damn near a mile and a half, given how wide he was in the Derby. This is it. It has to be.
Wife hit the big pick four at Pimlico.
All is good.

Going to be a replay in the Preakness, unless something freaky or horrible happens. Gonna throw Danzig into the mix just in case.
As we all will.
Some nice betting races on the undercard. Rosario is loaded.

Buy one and name him "bagh of dix," I'm in.
Seriously, got involved with something similar about 10 years ago. "Three Drink Minimum" was his name. Broke his maiden first out at Churchill, got hurt, never to be seen again. He now stands in my back yard for a stud fee of a bottle of Maker's.
Buy a boat. Better investment.

re: So, one of my millennial friends thinks Big Bang Theory is tGOAT sitcom.

"All in the Family" is the GOAT. Go back and watch the reruns. The stuff they did on that show..NO WAY YOU COULD DO TODAY, even on cable. Additionally, it was filmed before a live audience. Sometimes the characters would lose it if the audience really got going.
"M*A*S*H" was great.
"Modern Family" is the best current sitcom, and its not even close.

Last time I checked, Willie had not been implicated in raping little kids in the shower.
So there is that.
So there is that.
