Equating conference scheduling decisions with how many major universities happen to be founded in certain states

was a ridiculous, biased and self serving statement that had no merit.

Do you deny the SEC can control more than scheduling? That's the only post I have directed towards you.

It is a pretty ridiculous comparison.

Perhaps. But you don't see me trying to justify it another way either, or deflect from it, or type angrily about replies to it.

Again, it was brought up for the statement:
Does that advantage support an equal playing field?

I just cannot support anything that is not on an equal playing field.

I have no words.

I think you just refuse to answer. It's not that you have no words. You'd just prefer to look at things through purple and yellow glasses.

Slive is sly. No reason to go to 9 games until the SEC is penalized on strength of schedule.
Trouble is I can see that happening this year. Say Ohio State and Oregon are undefeated, as well as... oh, I dunno... A&M. I think A&M's shitty SOS keeps them out. Bama's SOS isn't much better, but they'd still get in on reputation. (LSU fans: shut up. With your SOS and an undefeated season you'll definitely be in.)
SOS to me becomes even more important in 2014. With a 9-game SEC schedule I can easily see 2 SEC teams in the playoff and possibly 3 (though that would never be allowed).
Plus there's the whole "don't screw the season-ticket holders by playing patsies" thing. If I was a season-ticket holder I'd have a stronger opinion about this.

I didn't think the pollsters were using SOS much anymore. The SEC reputation would be a bigger determining factor. The SEC champion is a guaranteed spot in the NC game, or 4 team tourney, for the near future.

This is undoubtedly true.
shite, they can almost hand pick which team ends up with a better record.
They can even protect it along the way with its officials.
The biggest question remaining is how much further you can embarrass yourself.

Again, you fail to address the question. Lsu has a distinct advantage within the state of Louisiana to sign the top talent in the state each year, due to no competition from other in state schools. Not every SEC team has the same benefits. Is that equality in your mind?
Since Any school can recruit any kid from any state it really doesn't matter how many universities are in the state. Not even close to being the same
Posted on 5/29/13 at 2:29 pm to wahoocs
You mean things like not making calls for holding for a certain team?

Then my statement was accurate, honest and reflected truth. Why so upset then, when that was the only statement I made towards you?

Yall skirted the actual question. Is there equality in Lsu having no Div I competition to sign in state talent, as compared to other SEC schools that have several schools competing for the same quality of talent?
Your inequity of talent argument is a red herring. There are no rules against recruiting in Louisiana. The rules are the same for every program.
LSU has to compete against all the SEC programs for all of their in-state recruits.
Saban left Michigan St. because he couldn't compete against Ohio St. or Michigan for the best talent in the Big-10.
He approached LSU because he saw the available talent level in Louisiana; however, he would have to accomplish what no one had been able to to before him--out recruit the SEC perennial powers for the best in-state talent.
If you want to blame someone, you have to look no further than Nick Saban.

He's exceeded even the limits of the what other Bama posters would possibly try to defend.

Please refer or link me to where I said they were the same. I simply asked to person, who stated he couldn't support anything that wasn't equal, if that situation created equality, or not.

Is there an advantage for an in state Institution over an out of state Institution, inherently?

Are you a politician? You keep arguing yourself into a circle.

Or, you know, if USC or UGA has a down year when Bama plays them, fans of a certain team would claim that the SEC knew exactly what year they'd be down and scheduled accordingly.
Damn, you'll find ANY excuse to bitch and moan.
You should be an LSU fan.

I've asked a straightforward question. Yall have angrily refused to answer it, save one person. It's some of you, who tip toe around the only answer that can be given, and have somehow, made the conclusion I compared the two situations as equal, when I did nothing of the sorts. I asked specifically, about one situation, that none of you wish to address.
