I agree with another one of your posts.

I enjoy the South but I'm sure I'd like just about anywhere tbh. I really loved California, Texas. All I know is growing up in the middle of nowhere around a bunch of busy body negative redneck fricks, I enjoy the big cities more. I like having many many choices and not having to drive 20 minutes to get anywhere. I still can't bring myself to relying on public transportation but if I ever move to Brooklyn or Chicago I'd adjust.

Also as for the niceness of people, outside of New Jersey/Philly/Boston people pretty much are awesome as long you treat them kindly from the beginning. NE'nrs will be gold to you if you go out of your way for them, they're used to everyone being pricks, so butter 'em up and just be a good positive person that keeps your word and you'll have a great experience.

That's my heritage yo. Not being racist by any means but I'm not about to dishonor my ancestors because people frown upon it. I get what your saying though.

90% of modern music either comes from The South or has roots in The South.

History can't be and shouldn't be ignored. Embrace the good and the bad and progress from the lessons and struggles.

Weather
I know i'm the minority here, but i like the weather in the north better. I love snow. Can't stand the summer heat and humidity of the south. I lived in Boston for a few years and loved the weather compared to Tennessee and North Carolina.

I lived in New England for a few years and caught hell because of my southern accent. Those retards equate it with low intellect. I was sure glad to get transferred back down South. I learned why we refer to them as damn Yankees!

I am from the South, that's what makes it better. It is home and people have the same ideals as me. Life is a lot more fun when you are surrounded by your people. I like to be outside of my comfort zone but it always make you appreciate it that much more when you come home.

This is true..I was just telling a girl i was fricking from up in PA that she was tall (she was like 5'9, im 5'10 haha) and that women down south are shorter and "easier to handle"

Don't see how anyone could visit the NW and go back to live in the SE. Unless you just really enjoy oppressive heat and humidity.

Yep, that's me.

Seriously, I love the south, but there are many problems -- most due to the reconstruction. If we could get past those, this place would be ideal.

Still, the weather is fine and so are the women. Life is easy and laid back for the most part, and the good cultural aspects outweigh the bad in my opinion.

I like seeing the sun and I hate cold, freezing drizzle.

The heat doesn't bother me as much as the freezing cold.

1. The people are friendlier in the south. That isn't to say they are unfriendly in other places, but they are more outgoing and concerned down south.

2. The weather. I can handle the heat much more than the snow and lack of sun. Plus the south tends to be lush and green for more of the year, up north there is a lot of gray dreariness that lasts until April or May.

3. Slower pace of life with more emphasis on enjoying life.

4. Better food. From traditional southern food like fried chicken and sweet tea, to bbq, to seafood in New Orleans and the SC low country we have some damn tasty food.

5. Personal connections. I'm southern, my family is southern, and my roots in Georgia and Louisiana go back hundreds of years. For me that makes the south home.

And for the flip side, I will say that the south is worse in a few areas as well: generally less healthy lifestyle (probably in part b/c of that delicious food), lower rate of education, a bit too much evangelical Christianity, and our cities tend to be way too sprawly (with the exception of NOLA).
