Has anyone done a frat by frat breakdown of the accused? Did anyone confirm the # of SAEs?

Number of SAE's was far from true.
9 SAE
4 Sigma Nu
1 KA
0 DKE
0 FIJI
1 Theta Chi (maybe more, but I only know of one)
Not sure about the rest but there are more people in random fraternities

No DKE's? Sounds very surprising... unless they do all their business in house

DKEs at Alabama have usually managed to stay out of trouble over the years. Not saying they don't do stuff, but I think they do a good job of keeping up appearances.

Tommy Spina is going to be a busy man the next few days getting mom & dad's little angel bonded and out of jail.
The dude has an iPhone App for his criminal defense practice. I am definitely going to do this.

It's good to run The Machine.

I'm glad the mobile private school system has properly prepared them for survival in ttown

Athens had a big fake ID sting a few years ago. My old roommate lived in the LXA house and it got raided at 5:30 in the morning. Turns out the guy who actually made the IDs was an out of house brother, but they guilted hundreds of students into turning in their ID with no penalty if they gave info on how they got it.

What happened? Pledgeship used to get shut down all the time when I was there.

Pledges were being pussies and couldn't handle bows and toes or getting there early in the morning.
ETA: obviously this is a bit in jest and I don't have all the info, but based on everything that was published and what I was told, I do believe the pledges were bitching about nothing.

The problem is that we have too many fraternities. There are too many people in the system that should not be and they just don't know what to expect. also, in those new/shitty fraternities, the older guys don't know how to run a pledge program.

Nah - but the SAE's had to close down the house during my time there - they literally had a damn drive-thru window selling some choice blow if you had a connection.
My old SAE friend happens to be the on-campus bookie now - the dude has never had to hold an honest job in his life. I'm jelly
You talking about mid to late 80s? CE? And the bookie is GC

I have a friend who was on the DKE house committee. Several years back a program was implemented. All incoming freshman have a mandatory hair follicle sample drug screening in addition to actives having a 25% random sample a few times throughout the year. This was all presented to UA and obviously was well received. Not so much by about 40% of the actives at the time who decided continuing to party away from the house was more fun and thus they exited stage right.
If a member fails then his parents are notified and he has to agree to attend an outpatient rehab type program. In 90 days another test is done on the subject who failed and if he fails again then he is booted.
Seeing no DKEs on this list isn't surprising to me at all based on the above.
I don't know if any other frats have a program to weed out (pun intended) those who like to burn, snort or whatever but I know DKE was the first to implement this type program at UA.

Ha. I know exactly who you're talking about. And yes he runs the town as far as booking goes. If you remember back about 15+ years ago when HBO ran a story on booking in T-town, I heard GC was not too happy about it. Had to lay low for a while. Bunch of half-way-crook wanna be bookies thought it would be cool to show their booking operation with fuzzy faces to the whole world. The heat was turned up on booking in T-town for a while after that.
