And how can you tell that you've crossed it?

The edge of Texas.

You can tell you crossed it when you stop seeing football stuff. Bumper stickers, shirts, hats, flags, etc

East Texas. For me it is when I quit seeing pinetrees. The rest of Texas has a different feel to me. It is definitely not West Coast, Midwest, yankee, etc. It is Texan. I feel the same way about Oklahoma.

Going west, The South ends where Louisiana stops.

It's right outside Athens, Texas....that's where the pine curtain begins.

Where is the northern border of the south? I know some who swear that Maryland is the south. Obviously they are wrong

East Texas. The Longview/Tyler area is about as far west as I'm willing to call the "south".
