Hard to top Bama.
AJ (2X BCSNCG winner)
Yeldon
Fowler
Drake
Derrick Henry (Top 100)
Altee Tenpenny (Top 100)
Tyren Jones (Top 100)
and maybe Alvin Kamara (Top 100)

1. A&M (I couldn't even tell you who their RB is and idc. JFF makes them number 1.
2. Tie between Bama and UGA

bama, UGA, LSU, and a&m all are going to have very good backfields next year
Posted on 1/22/13 at 9:23 pm to AgroAmerican
LSU doesnt have the necessary QB play to be included.
My top three for next year would be A&M, Georgia and either Oregon or Bama. Bama has "better" players but Oregon has a backfield perfectly suited for their system moreso than any other.

We just have an NFL fullback

I hate to bring it up, but how much does Mettenberger drag these three down, if QBs are being considered?
Some. The main problem was with missing blocks. I never believed the hype with Mett, but he did impress me a lot in some of the games. He has potential, just needs more experience and consistency. Missing blocks was largely due to the inexperienced O line and even Copeland to an extent. He's a beast when he hits people, but sometimes he's overaggressive and misses.

Not saying the best backfield at all, but I am excited to see how Henry Josey comes back next year. He was tearing it up before blowing up his knee. And yes, I know, that was in the Big 12.

A&M led the SEC in YPC, YPG, and TDs. We have JFF back, Funky Ben back, Trey Williams back, Brandon Williams, Tre Mason, James White, and new OC that is also a running back coach.
So far in one game with his playcalling A&M had the following stat line.
31 carries for 326 yards # 10.5 ypc & 4 TDs.
JFF 229 yards @ 13.5 ypc & 2 TDs
Malena 56 yards @ 7.0 ypc @ 1 TD
T Williams 41 yards @ 6.8 ypc @ 1 TD
So I'd go 1. A&M, 2 UGA, 3 BAMA, 4 LSU

At first that looked impressive..... and then I remember it was against OU.

Jeremy hill averaging 5 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns should probably be included. LSU for sure.

Georgia/Bama
aTm
LSU
While aTm has the best player, Georgia and Bama have the 2/3 at the same position in the league, and Yeldon/Gurley/Marshall are far far better than aTm running back crew.
There is a much bigger gap b/w aTm and LSU than there is any of the other 3 IMO.

If DG chooses AU over Michigan that would make. 1. Tre Mason 1000 yard rusher 2. Cam Artis-Payne #1 Juco RB 3. Derrik Green #1 RB by some sites.
Tre Mason played several 2nd halfs against teams that had huge leads. He was not a true 1,000 yard rusher.

A&M doesn't even have a tailback that's as good as UGA's backup, Marshall. This is just another Johnny Manziel fap fest for you aggie folk.
You haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about.

On what are you basing this?

And he had one of the worst O-Lines in the SEC.
And absolutely no passing threat whatsoever to help him out.
We had many problems last year, RB wasn't really one of them outside of the fumbles.

Are A&M fans incapable of being objective? Yeldon/Gurley have more yards, TDs, YPC. Marshall, while not putting up quite as many yards as Malena, has better YPC and just as many TDs.
It's also worth noting that UGA had a very inexperienced line and Yeldon/Marshall weren't primary backs.
