What he really cared about was playing DE in a 4-3 and not jack in Saban's 3-4 otherwise he would have been at Bama. Saban's not going to change up his whole defensive philosophy for one guy
Right, because DEs make a lot more money in the nfl on average than 3-4 Jack linebackers.
Ever stop to think Clowney may have known what he was doing?

Great play, great player. Obviously a 4-3 player, by the way.
But one thing's been way overlooked. Clowney spent most of the game being blocked. It so happened Michigan miscommunicated on this one play -- a play for which Clowney was just intensely focused.

that is a grown arse man and will be a nightmare for any qb he comes across at the college level and the pro level

Tajh Boyd and Aaron Murray collapsed to the floor in the fetal position and crapped their pants after watching that....

Clowney went unblocked on a slow developing play. He had a free shot on the running back big deal. The hit that Glenn Dorsey had a few years ago was more difficult considering he had to go through someone in order to get to the running back.

This hit was amazing but for me Clowney's signature move is the way he handles someone running the option on him.

One other thing has been way overlooked. Clowney will make your arse quit. He was held a lot and even got a couple facemasks to him but he kept coming. He had two huge plays in the 4th quarter. Exactly what happened against Tennessee. They had a ridiculous OLine this year and we couldn't do anything against them. Then in the 4th at the best possible time, Clowney gets his and forces a fumble.
You can't block him all game. He wears them out. I kept telling my friends when we were watching the game to wait til the 4th quarter to when Clowney can really do some damage. He went up against a great lineman all game but still made plays.

Progress, you might be the dumbest poster I've ever seen. Your delusion about your own team is as bad I've ever seen. 14andcounting might be your only rival.
Then I look at when you two joined the rant (nov and July of this year) and I'm less surprised.
He's a lock to be the #1 pick. What else do you want from him?

Supprised they did not call H2H with 15 yard penalty and UM ball after the way the hosed up the first down call.

I agree Clowney should have signed with Bama.....he would be playing for his second ring and on the biggest stage in sports......he would be a superstar at this point due the media exposure he would have had for two years......much more high profile program to showcase his talents and Saban is the best at positioning his guys for the NFL....South Cackalacky is OK......but Bama would have made him a rockstar long before now.......

He would have been better utilized in a Bama defense. He isn't reaching his potential in the medicore USCe program.
I don't think our 3-4 attracts top end DEs. They don't get the spotlight. They simply take up space for the linebackers.

Clowney smashed Robinson pretty good also. Not as good as the big hit, but it was still pretty good.

Clowney is a grown arse man. Would have loved him to sign with Alabama.
If he did that against Bama he would have been penalized 15 yards for helmet-to-helmet
It was an awesome hit and I especially like the way he snatched the fumble off the ground. Only thing that could have made it better, and OBC would have loved it and not even chewed his arse out, would have been to sling the ball at the ref and knock the shite out of him with it.

Yeah this is more less my recollection of what took place. That LT was pretty good but he wasn't good enough to block clowney all game. On more than one occasion clowney got by him and he simply grabbed him by the face mask and started pulling him down. That was the absolute worst officiating I have ever seen they wanted Michigan to win so bad it was shameful.
Also Bama is a great program but they wouldn't have had him doing anything else he couldn't do at any college in Div 1 football.
Also the only teams that have 11 players remotely close to the caliber of clowney are the 32 in the nfl and some the guys on those rosters aren't even close.
You are watching a once in every 15-20yr player right now mark it down.
