Food for thought, their coach loses by three touchdowns with the greatest college football team of all-time and they still don't realize that everyone is right about him being an underachiever.
Maybe another chicken bowl appearance with top 5 talent will do it. So sad

Did you miss the under achiever thread yesterday?
They said it was Mack Brown, presented data proving Mack Brown = Les Miles. Poof Thread deleted.
Mack and Les are so similar it is comical when they say Mack underachieves, denial at its finest.

Mack's NC team had two less losses though, and Mack has had good QBs that he recruited and developed.

So. Is everyone in here ready for some Arkansas national championships or what? Obviously both recruiting national championships and the real ones. I don't know which I'm more excited for, Auburn and A&M have really been pumping how good the recruiting ones feel for so long that I kind of just want to focus on that.

I agree, gotta crawl before we can walk.

I'm fairly certain that statistically and factually this is now THE greatest staff ever assembled in the SEC. I guess it goes to show that if you're a top producer and just focus on yourself instead of staring at other teams in jealousy then you can put it all together pretty easily.

If getting to 2nd in the SEC west is a national championship then yes it may happen. You aren't taking down The Dynasty.

Don't know much about this...but why is Shannon taking a LBer job when he was a stud DC?
And I feel like this could cause some problems on the D-side of the ball...with Ash not exactly being better than him as a proven commodity

Why?
Shannon coached on the field this past season for TCU, did Ash coach from the box for Wisconsin?
Seems like an advantage for us than a hindrance, having one in the box and the other on the field.

I'm just guessing here but I'm betting it's tough for him to find a good DC job while his name is still attached to the Miami investigation. He could probably get a DC job at a lower school but a position job at an SEC school is going to pay as well or better and keep you in the spotlight.

I wasn't talking about the Box/Field thing, more about the general approach that Shannon may not like being "below" a guy who isn't as proven as he is
I think it's a great hire but more wondering what you guys think about the dynamics

yea I don't think it'll be a problem he was a LB coach at TCU, made a vertical move to Arkansas and will probably get his shot at DC in a few years when Ash goes on to be HC somewhere.

Ya know, honestly I didn't even know he coached this year
Since he was at TCU it's a step up and great hire

Oh, I would say if it was a problem, he had other opportunities, he was reported to have been a candidate for the USF DC job and FIU (or some other Florida school that is open, I think it is that one) HC job.
He spent last season as TCU's LB coach and Dicus has never been a HC or wants to be either, so he isn't "more accomplished" than Shannon either.
I would say Shannon is waiting for the Miami mess to blow over so he can see if he can land something better, which is fine, no one expects him to be a long time LB coach for us.

Insanity as defined via the Crowpelien Dicktionary:
Arkansas hires a guy with "baggage" and a "low integrity level" just a few years ago and he prompts takes a very mediocre program down to the level of utter embarrassment.....and so they hire ANOTHER coach with stink on him.
And we all await their shock and surprise when Shannon shats the bed on them too!! It really is fun watching this dumpster burn.

You got beat by Louisiana at Monroe at home
You got beat by the state university of new jersey
You got beat by LSU at home again
You have WON 4 bowl games in the past 23 years
You have a 13-23 postseason record
You are sitting at home again this season
