Serious question for Bama fans

How many people truly enjoy Paul Finebaum? I have tried to listen multiple times and really find the man conceited and obnoxious. Every day he flames Auburn which I find is getting old and really don't see the point in the man even having a radio show. The callers are ignorant as shite and come off as backwoods trash more times than not. I just want to know if this guy is really respected and listened to by the Bama fanbase?

Finebaum is the truth....you'll see......

I don't listen anymore,he's the southern version of Jerry Springer imo,he pits rednecks vs. rednecks.

You've just given him more attention than his momma did his entire childhood.

He disgusts me. The only thing more ridiculous than the callers he mocks is a person whose life is defined by it - Finebaum himself. I really hate talk show hosts like that. There's a special radio channel in hell for Finebaum, Limbaugh, and all their ilk.

It can be entertaining at times, I'll admit.
When he has good guests on, it's a great show. He's truly a great interviewer when not playing fans against each other.

I usually tune in on the way home looking to get some scoop on the SEC and it seems it has been a repeat of the same shite for weeks and fricking with Pat Dye. I have no doubt the man knows his stuff and has the potential for a great show I just don't get all the love for the guy. Idk thanks for the responses I have a bunch of buddies that graduated from Bama I was just looking for some insight or opinions thanks.

He's really good at what he does and the show is usually entertaining. Some of the callers (Legend, Tammy, etc) are just impossible to listen to though and get very annoying. The problem with the show's popularity is that Finebaum gets so many callers that all the Alabama and Auburn fans that have a life aren't going to wait on hold for an hour to get their call in. This leads to an inordinate amount of yahoo sidewalk fans calling in.
As for the Auburn bashing, that's a matter of the timing of the show going national. The first year Finebaum went national was 2010 and outside of the Cam Newton controversy he was very pro Auburn during the season. What LSU and other fans don't understand is that Finebaum unmercifully bashed and made fun of Alabama during the Dubose, Franchoine, and Shula years. That fact is conveniently ignored by the Bama haters though.

Finebaum is very entertaining and news worthy. You just have to look past him being a Dick

Auburn is getting bashed, deservedely so, becuase they are a train wreck and train wrecks are entertaining....Bama got the same treatment during the Dubose/Shula years

His show blows. He does have big time guests on there though and Finebaum is actually a great interviewer, so I go back and listen to some of those on the internet. Dude is also usually in the know with the power brokers at Alabama and Auburn, so if he gets on a rant, it's worth a listen.

I love listening. He's the master troll, and has excellent guests.
People who get so worked up about Finebaum "don't get it."

I rarely listen, but when I do I can only listen to the show when he has guests on. As soon as the calls from the great unwashed public start, I'm out...

Honestly, I don't truly enjoy him or his show. I do however find it hilarious that there are that stupid people out there while also feeling embarrassed that a lot of those people are fans of Alabama.

I agree with this statement

You should have listened to it during the Shula / Tubbs years. It was the exact opposite. He was flaming Bama constantly and praising Auburn.

See my first comment
In my opinion while his show is almost unbearable at times to listen to but he does have some guests on there that show respect to a lot of different programs and also bring in some good insight. With that being said, I would say he does his job very well and I think he knows exactly what angle(s) to go with to get callers and ratings. I would say he's a shock jock because he doesn't care who he pisses off as long as he's getting callers and ratings.
I personally don't like it and couldn't tell you the last time I listened to it. Most everything that is presented on there I can read on here in advance to it being said on the air. I think that the SECrant needs a radio show.

I personally don't like him and i truly believe there'll be a reckoning for his becoming wealthy by fanning the flames of hatred and being an instigator. He's been a cancer on the Iron Bowl rivalry imo.

Very very true. I don't listen to it everyday, but I did listen to it more often when I was in my late teens early 20's, which was when Bama was going through the coaching debacle of the late 90's early 2000's. I clearly remember Finebaum stirring the pot and bashing Alabama. I also remember the Auburn callers calling in one right after another talking smack about Alabama.
The controversy is what makes his show popular, so that's what he does...keeps it controversial by pitting caller against caller.
To answer the original question...the only thing I enjoy about the show is when Charles from Reeltown calls in. He always makes me laugh.
