Both have their best 40 time at 4.37, Banks is 6'2" and Milliner is 6'1". Pretty evenly sized I honestly didn't know Dee was that fast.

well actually neither one of them are that fast and we will find that out for sure at the combine like we do everyone else.

I'm betting most of the MSU posters don't know jack shite about Milliner. They just hear the praise from ESPN about Banks during the games and assume nobody else comes close.

Milliner is legit. He's the best cover corner that Saban has had at Bama, and I'm not one of those fans that thinks each player is better than the last.

I admit that I don't know shite about Banks, but if he's better than Milliner, then he's the best player MSU has had in a long time.

There are several points that need to be properly addressed:

1.
quote:

Milliner plays "boundary" corner

So does Banks, and teams STILL won't throw at him. contrary to popular belief, field and boundary aren't exclusive to Bama, and other teams employ those concepts for force people to throw at Banks..but they still don't

2.
quote:

tackles like a safety

So does Banks, oh btw...he played safety his freshman year

3.
quote:

better measurables...will run a 4.3-4.4 at the combine

Banks wakes up out of bed, pisses 4.4

4.
quote:

all things being equal most NFL teams would prefer

You know what they prefer? Scheme diverse. Refer to point 2 and Banks fields punts, and catches like a WR....

So in short...go fap to your Milliner autographed jersey, and we will see you after the draft...when Banks is the #1 CB

Word was, with a strong showing it'd boost Banks' stock as a top-10 pick and elevate Slay into first-round consideration. Bruce Feldman

I know that milliner smoked julio jones in high school, and julio ran a 4.39 with a broken bone in his foot at the combine. Milliner is that fast

I keep reading that you want a CB that people throw to so you get more tipped balls.... etc.

B friggin S!

Maybe one day, lil' bama boy will prove himself enough that QBs learn not to throw his direction. He should look up to Banks on how to get that kind of RESPECT! Heck, even Slay has reached that level!

FTR, I do think Milliner is probably faster and that's why he is being graded higher. Doesn't make him the better corner right now. Banks had his first test of the season and shut down one of the top receivers in the country. Then he stripped a ball out and recovered it which was probably the most important play of the game.

One play results in an incompletion or turnover opportunity, the other results in your other corner being thrown at. Don't be a dumbass. Milliner hasn't given up shite since 2010, the more teams throw at him the better. Teams are going to throw more on alabama because they can't run on alabama and they're playing from behind the whole game. It's pretty simple sally. MSU fans and Lsu trolls will say banks is better, but the scouts are saying milliner is better...that's all the proof I need. OMG banks shut down UT he da shite. Good for him. Since when is UT the be all end all measuring stick of a defense. We're going to beat the shite out of tennessee, and then we're going to beat the shite out of MSU, and banks will be grinded in the process. DWI

That's awesome.

Milliner has made a ton of plays too. For some reason no single play of his has been game changing. It might have something to do with the fact that Bama has blown every team they've played out of the water. I guess he'd be better if the plays were made with the game on the line.

one also locks down the other team's best player and in a lot of cases, an entire side of the field, allowing more help with the rest of the field, improving your entire defense. Pretty sure that's what you want from your best cb. Stop with this spin bullshite.

I honestly don't know why teams started the year trying to throw at Milliner. It may just be the way Saban has moved him around. The dude has made play after play though.

What do you think milliner does?

It's either throw at milliner or throw at belue and lester. DM is on an island by himself 95% of the time, most QB's are taught to throw into single coverage rather than double coverage. I'd be willing to bet that while MSU has seen more pass happy teams that alabama has had more passes attempted against them. It's a product of jumping out to a huge lead.

Go look at how many times Eric Berry was thrown at

Berry was a safety, not a corner (although he probably could have been a lock down corner too)

Banks is good, but Miller is a better Athlete and a better tackler.

Banks isn't physical enough and will be exposed by the combine no way he runs close to a 4.3, he is much closer to 4.5

Millner will go top 10 Banks will go late 1st rd because this is a weak CB draft. If Banks had came out last year he would be a day 2 player.

2013 NFL Draft preview for Week 7 of college football

Match-ups to watch

Tennessee wide receiver Justin Hunter vs. Mississippi State cornerback Johnthan Banks

Johnthan Banks has emerged as the No. 1 cornerback in the 2013 NFL Draft class. He is a dynamic athlete with incredible ball skills. He will get a massive test this week when the Justin Hunter and the Volunteers come to town. Hunter is one of the top draft-eligible wideouts, possessing excellent size and speed. This should be a heavyweight battle for the ages, and draftniks will be re-watching this one all winter.
