re: Thamel: UF will hire Kelly, Frost, or Mullen

He's stated privately to many that he hated it there. this
When his DC left to become the DC at Florida, Mullen ridiculed the decision as "a lateral move." this
and
When Striklin (current Fla AD, not "Strickland" as many on here keep spelling it) was the AD at MSU, he and Mullen didn't exactly get along well with each other, to put it mildly. this

The problem in this scenario is
1 loss SEC runner up (presumably UGA) gave 1 loss ND their loss. Not in a neutral site, but on their home turf. While UGA loses to SEC champ.

re: Dak Prescott refuses to participate in turning his back on the flag

“I just feel so strongly that the act of recognizing the flag is a salute to our country and all of the people that have sacrificed so that we can have the liberties we have,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan’s Shan and RJ. “I feel very strongly that everyone should save that moment for the recognition of the flag in a positive way, so I like the way the Cowboys do it.”
Prescott had this to say:
"I mean, it's bigger than I think some of us think," he said. "It's just important for me to go out there, hand over my heart, represent our country and just be thankful and not take anything I've been given and my freedom for granted."
The two statements are extremely similar. Like I said in my original post. Dak may feel this way truly, or he may not...but it always pays for you and the person who signs your paycheck to agree.
I love Dak, will always love him. His kneeling, not kneeling won't affect the way I view him or any other player in the NFL because we all view things differently. But when your boss tells you to do something, and you aren't financially insulated to take the hit...you do it.
By the same token, if your boss came in and said work overtime or you're fired...you think showing up for work is a choice? Especially if you don't have powerball winnings sitting in your bank account.
Colin has made over 40M dollars in his career btw...hardly struggling for a tattoo i would think.

This
Dak at this point in his career hasn't built up the capital to challenge his team despite what he may feel. Not saying he feels one way or the other, but his options are limited as are 95% of the players in the NFL.

From his perspective there isn't a conspiracy. That's all I am trying to get people in this thread to even consider. That maybe...just maybe, the world is bigger than what they have experienced.
Some have been victimized, unjustly accused (and convicted), harassed, etc...and just because it hasn't happened to you or you haven't witnessed it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
How would you know if there is a conspiracy affecting a certain group? You aren't in that group, so how can you unequivocally say there is or isn't.
Ever heard of Jim Crow? So don't say it's not possible for a segment of population to be treated differently than another....

There are statistics that totally blow the police brutality against black people out of the water.
What are they?

Not to mention that damn near every officer shooting of a black man that theyre protesting has been justified in court
I think this is kind of the point of the protests...

But it's all a huge conspiracy to get the black man
How would you know...are you black?

Can the idea of democracy and freedom exist without the flag?
I can answer that for you, yes. The ideas for democracy and freedom predate the first flag representing the Americas
Again...
Your information disseminated to you from your family created that.

The flag does have meaning.
But the meaning is subjective. That's the part that i believe people are missing.
It is not a standard view that is shared by 100% of the population. And like all views, it can be altered depending on your perspective or exposure to information.
The flag having meaning could be:
freedom
USA is supreme
military lives lost
etc etc

So I guess these articles (one of which is from veterans) don't mean anything?
SI article
US vets thoughts on protest
The flag in fact does represent freedoms, and one of them is freedom of speech, protest. His exercising of that right is why they went to war and serve this country. I wonder if many of you are as mad when you see a fellow [insert SEC team] fan not standing, or removing their hats, or not standing at attention, or continuing with their conversations. Do you approach them or speak ill of them?
When did this country become the land of having the same opinion as me or get out? We all have different views based on our experiences. I can't look at another and determine what their view is because I haven't shared their experiences.

This isn't a "new precedent". OM players were used vs MSU during the Sherrill years. I've heard it reported (I think Wolken stated this in an on air interview) that the same has happened with Bama and Auburn in the past.

all of our big fish, the entire staff is recruiting so he isn't the primary for any uncommitted prospect. He was the primary for Roberson though (TE from GA) but I doubt this has very much affect on him though
ETA: and he hasn't made any offers in the 2017 class either

yea...he and Knott, if we could land both would immediately be our best two CBs on the roster. Heard the coaches rave about Smitherman as well.

haven't seen it mentioned yet so passing this along.
John Broussard, 4* CB from Phx City AL...is uneasy following TRob and Muschamp leaving AU, per his HS coach.
We are the favorite for his HS teammate Jamal Couch (Former FSU commit)
So this bears watching..
ETA: It was tough for his to commit to AU over MSU in the summer (per his HS coach). Was set to enroll early
