why you hating on Magee?
I thought about throwing his name out there, but I don't honestly know enough about him to rank him.
I honestly don't really believe it matters what back is better either, because they will all get playing time and will all have their moments. We don't have a Lattimore, Richardson, or Davis but our stable is just as good and won't wear down as quickly.

Ford
Hilliard
Blue
Ware
Hill
Magee
That's my order, just depends on what style you like. They all got something different about them.

I really think Ford would be the "starter", if he wasn't so awful in pass protection. He does everything else really well. He's really really bad in pass protection situations though. Completely misses the defender almost every time.

Is hard to say that one is the best but I think it is between hilliard and ford with a slight edge toward ford because of his speed. Im very excited to see blue run this year too. I feel blue is often overlooked and shouldnt be

I was most impressed with Hilliard.
Fall practice will determine the first go to guy. Miles will play whoever is hot after that. I really liked Hilliard in spring game though.

I like Ware's elusiveness and him losing weight this offseason should make him a little faster.
Ford's got that speed and good when hits the outside. I don't know if i see any flaws with Blue except the fact he doesn't get as many carries as he should, hes got some wheels. Hilliard's a favorite cause hes as strong as an ox, downhill runner, tough, and has some good speed with that size of his. I dont know if ive even seen magee play in a game though. Hill could possibly be the best back that hasn't played a down yet, but since he hasnt I can't speak on his part.
I'm torn between Blue and Hilliard right now, then im torn between Ware and Ford for #3 and #4. Just too much to contain that 4 headed monster!

Hilliard is the one who has that bullheaded mentality and fluid running style to pick up big , consistent gains. That stretch against Georgia where he absolutely gashed them was uber-impressive, jaw-dropping stuff. His yards after contact is crazy, he's just bigger and stronger than these lbs that are coming up to tackle him.
Ford never really impresses you but when you look at his stat line at the end of the game he has the numbers. There is something about his stride that makes him look slower than he is, but he hits that corner fast.
Blue has more big runs on a per carry average than any back on the team. He is that huge fan favorite, that low key guy, that is destined to be a backup for three years and then stick in the NFL for 6/7 years. He has a great stride and great vision and may be the most underrated player on the 85.
Ware is just a sledgehammer. He just bludgeons teams. I love him because he just wears teams out with his physical play.He seemed to get really slowed down with injuries as the season wore on, and I just don't see him as being able to be an every down back with that style. He is also the most likely back on the roster (along with Ford) to have a negative gain. I like him coming in fresh to start the 3rd quarter.
McGee is a slippery fluid back who would be a co-starter in most years, but he will have to fight to get on the field.
Hill imho, along with Hilliard will have the best SEC careers. Hill is strong, fast, has great vision, and picks up a lot of yards after contact. You haven't seen him yet, but he's coming soon, to a stadium near you.

I dont think Ware is very elusive, he's more like a 1 or 2 cut type back. He's not gonna try and bounce it to the outside much or juke guys out, he's gonna make 1 or maybe 2 moves and then bulldoze whoever is still in his way. He's more of a north/south guy. Reminds me a little of Charles Scott. He's better than most realize. If he's dropped the weight like has been reported, he should have a good year.

I really like Magee alot too. I hope he doesnt transfer, he hits the hole hard and fights like hell for extra yards.
One thing I will say about our RBs this year. None of them will get enough carries.

FWIW Ware is a guy they typically used at the start of games to soften up an opponent (so it is not surprising his numbers are not as good as the guys backing him up). Ford is my pick though - with Blue as an under-appreciated second option. Hilliard is who I would put in when you get inside the other team's 10 yard line especially.
Don't expect one guy to get more than 40-50% of the total yards of LSU rushing this year. LSU's depth at RB is what they beat up other teams with.

I rate them as:
1. Hilliard - Very quick for such a big back and incredibly strong.
2. Ford - Quickest at hitting the hole and getting around the ends.
3. Blue - Best breakaway threat. Needs more playing time.
4. Ware - Overrated. Runs with power but doesn't see holes well. If he gets up a head of steam he is hard to bring down but goes down fairly easy at line of scrimmage.

Ware looked like a beast against MSU but kind of dropped off as the season got longer. I will admit that I haven't watched them as much as some but with limited time watching I would say Ford is their best with Jeremy Hill being one to watch out for, I know Saban wanted this kid.

Blue is the best pro prospect.

I would compare the LSU RB's to these pro RB's:
Ware - Marion Barber
Hilliard - Brandon Jacobs
Ford - Ahmad Bradshaw
I think Blue has potential to be really good based on what little I have seen, but he didn't get much PT last year. His long run in the SEC championship was nice.
