Size of each SEC schools enrollment

Yeah this thread really has no substance. Just a thread of a random fact that I thought would be interesting. Never really looked into it before.
Disclaimer: These are all from Wiki where it was easy to have them all grouped together. All of which were linked to Spring of 2011.
1) Texas A&M: 49, 861
2) Florida: 49, 589
3) Mizzou: 33, 805
4) UGA: 33, 367
5) 'Bama: 31, 747
6) LSU: 28, 985
7) UT: 27, 523
8) UK: 27, 209
9) AU: 25, 469
10) Ark: 23, 199
11) MSU: 21, 424
12) OM: 16, 586 in Oxford, 20, 844. Either way same position
13) Vandy: 12, 714
*South Carolina: 45, 774 state-wide system, 30,721 in Columbia. Wasn't sure where to list us since we have so many who go to satellite campuses across the state. I didn't see any other SEC school that had so many satellite campuses that could change its official enrollment so dramatically. So SC is either 3rd or 6th.
Anything surprising? Or informative? Worthy of discussion?

Oddly enough, the Arkansas numbers are more than 10,000 higher from when I graduated in 97. I know we're not in line with other SEC schools, but it's still impressive (at least to me).

I didn't realize Ole Miss was that small.

28,037 according to our own website per last years enrollment.

The University of Arkansas "system" has over 70,000 students according to their website. I doubt you should count systems.

If those numbers are accurate, I can see why A&M and Mizzou got the SEC invites.

Auburn, unlike most, isn't looking to expand it's enrollment at all in the near future. They are sitting on that 25,000 number.
Good thread though.

An interesting note is that Auburn really isn't looking to increase enrollment, as the university and city are basically at capacity. What this has done is make admission to Auburn much more competitive and selective.
Auburn is around 25K now, and was over 23K in 2005. Interestingly enough, 2005 was the year when Alabama's enrollment numbers really took off. 2005 was the first year that Alabama had a larger enrollment than Auburn since Harry Truman was president.

That looks like a lot of soon unemployed and underemployed people.

Mizzou numbers accurate and expecting 34+k this fall. That only counts the enrollment at Columbia. Other branches at UMKC and University of Missori at Rolla (engineering school)
Also it is true that to attend one of the Texas state schools, a Texan must rank in top 10% of their HS graduating class. Lots of smart kids migrate to OK schools.

Uhh...the University of Missouri system has roughly 74,000 students in it.
Mizzou: 33,805
UMKC: 15,473
UMSL: 16,809
UMS&T: 7,521
Seeing as 2 of our satellite campuses are bigger than or similar to several SEC schools, I wouldn't say including satellite schools in USCe's enrollment is appropriate.

Yeah, had you listed satellite campuses, the Texas A&M University System would've changed the TAMU posted enrollment numbers as well:
Prairie View A&M University
Tarleton State University
Texas Maritime Academy
Texas A&M International University
Texas A&M University at Galveston
Texas A&M University at Qatar
Texas A&M University - Central Texas
Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi
Texas A&M University - Kingsville
Texas A&M University - San Antonio
Texas A&M University - Texarkana
West Texas A&M University

Surprised that Missouri has that many students.

Thought UT would be higher.

This would seem to cause problems with the Auburn theory relative to the preponderance of Bama sidewalkers.
