As far as I'm concerned 11/5 never really happened. Why? We won it all and that's all that matters. It would have been nice to go 14-0 but I will take a 12-1 record if it gives us a national championship.

And, as far as I'm concerned, 1/9 never happened because Alabama did not deserve to even be in the game. Once they got in, they had every intangible go their way and, being a great team, they rose to the occasion.

Alabama's claim to fame last year was LOSING to LSU AT HOME. That's it. That's what got them in the game. Once they got there, they made the most of it, but the 1/9 game was meaningless to me. It never should have even happened and was a massive set up from the beginning.

See, I can do that too.

And it is why we have more national championships then you or anyone else. I don't care if you want to go with 14 or the 9 ESPN credits us with.

Total sports: LSU 42, Bama 20--only in 2 sports. We have more National Championships than you. Including the 1997 Baseball title.

As far as life being unfair, here is a post to my fellow TDers I posted today concerning this whole BCS fiasco:

What happened to us concerning our bowl matchup was plain unfair. There's no other way around it. It was unfair to Oklahoma State and every other FBS school other than Alabama. It was unfair to every other conference in FBS college Football except the SEC.

Sometimes life is unfair.

However, I would not change our path to that game for Bama's for anything. I would not want a tainted BCS trophy sitting (shattered) in our clubhouse. As a fan, I would not want to have to spend the rest of my LSU fandom having to say "21-0" over and over as a means to prove that my team actually belonged in that game. Just because Bama won that game doesn't mean they deserved to be there. The end result does not justify the means.

That being said, I have to remind myself that life is unfair. I rest in the fact in knowing that my team did not have resort to politicking to "earn" its way into a championship game. We earned our spot by going through our schedule plus the SEC championship game undefeated.

It's 2012. Bama won 4 NCS in 4 different sports, this year alone.

By the way, the 2012 football nc hasn't been handed out yet. They might want to edit that page.

Yeah that, or LSU beat you the 1st time with only 10 players on offense causing your coach to politic his way into the Mnc game despite Bama's inability to even win their own division or thier conference. Everyone outside Alabama understands Bama didn't deserve to be there and ESPN bullshite politics got them there. LSU still won your conference and won the Super Bowl, the Game of the Century on the road in Primetime. The most logical college football purist even know this. One of my best friends is from Mobile and a nut job Bama fan, and doesn't think Bama deserved to be there. GFY with this you fricking troll!

Why is it that over half of what bama posters start threads on is somehow concerning LSU? Obsession? Scared about what will happen 11/6/12 in death valley?

LSU was the lone undefeated team, Alabama had the best loss of the one loss teams, therefore Alabama was the #2 team in the country.

The BCS matches the #1 team in the country with the #2 team in the country.

#2 DOMINATED #1 in every way imaginable in that game, therefore #2 was determined to be the better team and received the MNC. It wasn't unfair, LSU got beat.

I moved on the next day because I knew the better team lost and that we'd make it to NOLA one way or another.

What bothers me is that he cannot, for any reason, congratulate Les Miles or LSU. An LSU-Oklahoma State matchup in the BCSCG would have been Saban's worst nightmare. For six weeks, the entire national conversation would have been about Miles and the two programs he helped bring to prominance, instead of the conversation we had which was about the two programs Saban helmed. In order to keep that from happening, his refusal to accept losing, which rubbed off on his players prompting their assinine excuses (highlighted by Marquise Maze's "The punt hit the camera cable so I couldn't catch it"--nevermind the fact that his coach let him play while he was clearly hurt), created a dialogue that amounted to nothing more than sore loserism that caused me to lose respect for a coach and a program I had admired greatly up until last year.

Didn't think about that. I think you are right though, they were going to do everything possible to keep okie state and lsu from playing each other

I hate to think what might have happened to have us play the way we did. We may never know

Great analysis, yet again, from Coach Saban

Well, you know, we've come a long way since Coach Saban let us get raped by UGA at Sanford Stadium in 2004.

Well, look at it this way: According to how Alabama claims around half of their national championships (before the bowl games, even if they lost the bowl game), LSU would have won the national championship last year since they were the only team to go undefeated in the regular season and they beat Alabama, the #2. So, there's that.

Shooting yourself in the foot doesn't change the fact that you got beat. In fact, a team that shoots themselves in the foot isn't the better team at all. While you were shooting yourself in the foot, we were shooting you in the face.
