re: Biggest SEC fluke last year

OSU didn't beat LSU, LSU did beat bama. Bama got a do over because so many voters and pollsters got their ego's bruised when they were wrong about the first meeting.

You logic started out pretty good here. But you didn't list all of the teams in the equation.

- OSU didn't beat LSU (correct. To be more accurate, it should be pointed out that they didn't play)
- LSU beat bama (correct. was a close game that went into overtime)
- ISU beat OSU (You forgot to list this one?)

Not sure if excuse?... but I think the reason has to do with Iowa State being a 6-7 team and the fact that LSU was ranked number 1 with no losses.

Lawlz. The NCG was still within reach in the 4th quarter so this notion Alabama was on a whole different level is pretty ridiculous.

As was the 50 yard line.

You're like a fly to shite in Bama threads. Thanks for your support.

Having a hard time figuring out who comes off the worse with this comment. :dunno:

Not impressed. Les miles numbers are pretty much equivalent. So Les is like Bear!

Not the numbers that matter. NCs will trump all in this discussion. Saban still has some work to do.

Breeze, its called humor and getting in the spirit. Are you always so serious? Nothing will change the Jan. whipping. I am not butt-hurt.

my humor is dry

I for one refuse to be involved in this. I say leave the tree-poisoning, teabagging fan base alone while they research some obscure newspaper in the backwaters of Alabama that named them national champion back in the 1890's!!!

easy to spot those that will never get over the arse whipping.

We beat you guys solidly in the regular season and finished the regular season ranked #2 nationally and had a much better record that you but you got a MULLIGAN.

We had nothing to lose and you took advantage

sound logic :dunno:

I disagree. Honestly, what else was there for LSU to prove? We had already beaten Alabama on the road. Had the toughest OOC schedule in the country, beaten 3 top 3 teams, and had won the SEC West and SEC Title.

Honestly Bama was just glad to be there. And I surely don't buy the "well the 1st game was close so both teams had something to prove". That's a bunch of bullshite and you know this.

Of course you do. Any team in the NC game should be glad to be there. Congrats on the titles.

First game wasn't decided in regulation. Based on this LSU should have known what they were getting into, after having easily dispatched the rest of their opponents. The two best teams in the country were selected to play for a NC. Bama was smart enough to adjust and exploit the weakness in LSU. Oh and your position... LSU wasn't up for it, they shouldn't have to play them again. If that is the case the LSU program has larger issues than having trouble with the 50 yard line. Best of luck.

SEC Champions... You didn't even win your division son. GTFO

ETA: And you had already lost to LSU at home. You had nothing to lose.

The NC game is more about everything to win, as opposed to "nothing to lose". Having nothing to lose wasn't the deciding factor in the NC game. One view is that LSU was simply outmatched in that game... LSU weakness played into Bama's strengths. This was not as apparent in the first game that had to be decided in overtime. But after such a close first game, both teams had something to prove. The other view would be that LSU wasn't as "UP" for this game because they had already beaten Bama once. I don't buy this argument. However, for argument sake, if that were true that is a larger program issue for LSU to deal with. There is absolutely no excuse for not being "up" and ready to play for the NC. In this case the stronger program last year won.

The only thing that will throttle back the 1/9 references, will be to throttle back on all of the excuses. You didn't win your division... yada, yada. Throwing gasoline on a fire, lmao.

The only reason I have a problem with playing Bama again was the fact that LSU had to beat Georgia for the right to play Bama again. How on earth is that fair

Worse championship game loss ever? Not even close.

Not sure about worse, but had to be close? Shutout... only crossing the 50 once. :dunno:

Alabama's claim to fame last year was LOSING to LSU AT HOME. That's it. That's what got them in the game. Once they got there, they made the most of it, but the 1/9 game was meaningless to me. It never should have even happened and was a massive set up from the beginning.

Oh it stings, I know it does. Try to relax.

probably the biggest mistake of the game - Brad Wing kicking a punt to Maze

always a mistake.

At least Alabama played its worst game on 11/5 and was still competitive and in position to win on multiple occasions. LSU was never a threat to Alabama on 1/9. Plus I think that just shows you what kind of a team you have when it plays its worst game in the game that matters.

LSU played their worst game of the season on 1/9 and that had little to do with Alabama

false

I can't believe LSU fans felt they were the better team after actually beating you on the road. The HORROR...

HORROR is a bit much... misconception is what you are looking for.
Is unanimous consent required among all of the BCS conferences? If not, what is required to actually pass anything?

True

We'll make history though.

3 consecutive seasons

"If" this turns out to be the case, would you trade history for a win in the LSU/Bama BCS title game? It doesn't matter how you spin this, imo that 2012 NC will trump all. You are going to have to learn to live with it. :dunno:
