A&M and Florida both carry some weight, IMO.
I disagree. A degree from either of those schools does not open any special doors except for in Texas and Florida.

Meh, Mizzou might have something to say about Journalism. I agree with the rest of your post though.

Maybe in this shithole of an economy, but A&M and Florida have some national appeal and both have huge alumni bases along with being great schools.

these rankings are bullshite!
depends what you wish to study, you can bet that moo state, auburn, lsu, a & m are better agriculture colleges than vandy & have vet schools.
remember player from louisiana picked vandy over lsu & said he was going to study journalism, our journalism school does not take a back seat to anyone. same goes for chem eng, petro engr & several other programs
I take it you went to LSU. And yes, Vandy might concede the ag school rankings to LSU and Auburn.

UGA can act like they're all better and everything

Is this undergrad only? Because that means less and less these days.

Meh. The rankings done by research (something that is subjective rather than peer survey) are much more accurate.

In the tie Florida & A&M are tied @ # 58
Without googling I will guess Columbia is the best journalism school
Syracuse the best electronic media journalism
UNC the best medical journalism

Didn't realize aTm had such a scholarly reputation to them.

Not true.
According to the Wall street Journal, A&M is the #2 ranked school of all universities by corporate recruiters.

Does Mississippi have anything positive going for it? Seriously, scroll down almost any list and MS is what you find at the bottom.
I have several friends that went to Ole Miss. They are constantly bringing up the US News study that they are the SEC's "best buy". Whatever that means?
