Don't blame you now, didn't blame you then. But I will say I underestimated how little sarcasm travels.

Yeah, I was actually quite disappointed when I found it we weren't playing them this year. Wish there was a big non-rivalry conference game for us this year, and winning 3 straight in T-town would truly be something to cherish.

i was kinda pumped for it too. i also dig the easily schedule for once though. but i was pumped to go to T-Town and 3 in a row would be a great feeling when we went downtown tuscaloosa that night

How?

LSU won their division. UGA did not.

LSU won their conference. UGA did not.

LSU beat 5 teams ranked in the Top 15 in the Final AP Poll. UGA did not.

LSU beat 2 conference champions (Ohio State and Virginia Tech) UGA did not.

Sure, this might be one of their best opportunities but they'll screw up somewhere

LSU as a whole had the better team, played more quality opponents and had both of its losses come in triple OT. That said, UGA was playing much better football late in the season and was even ranked ahead of LSU in the polls prior to the SECCG (UGA was #4; LSU was #7).

No question Georgia was playing very well by season's end. But.....Polls can be a major joke as they also had Virginia Tech ranked ahead of LSU in the poll prior to the SEC title game. LSU and VT had identical records and LSU beat Virginia Tech 48-7 earlier that season.

When it came time to pick the two most deserving teams for the NC game, the poll voters finally used their collective brains and put ranked the teams on what they accomplished during the season as a whole. LSU's resume was far better than UGA's.

It looks and feels like Richt's glory days are over. The fact that the nation, and more importantly, the recruits sense this, he needs to be let go. There's no excuse for not locking down GA in recruiting, and no excuse for starting almost every season off flat. I'll just say this... UGA can do better, and no, UGA will not win a MNC w/ Richt at the helm. Just my honest opinion.

Do you also right the shitty columns in the AJC that spew this nonsense? How do you expect any coach to lock down a state's talent when its arguably the third richest state in terms of talent. Its not like he's having to scrounge and take bad players... If I thought your argument hadn't been addressed 473 other places online I'd go pull the numbers but suffice it to say of the top 5 and top 10 recruits out of the state, Richt has done well over his tenure. More impressive still given that it HAS been so long since the school has won a NC. I'm not going to defend Richt as I think he has some major shortcomings (blind loyalty = #1) but to criticize his ability to recruit, you're simply wrong. He recruits well and he does it without having to "PROCESS" players. I guess since you're a Bama fan we can forgive you though as you clearly wouldn't understand anything about doing things with honor or integrity.

Whatever man... Keep your blinders on then. I think Richt is a great guy, and a man of integrity, but he's not going to bring UGA to the promise land. I don't think recruiting is the main problem w/ UGA. It's only one of many. I have no qualms w/ UGA... I just think they could do better.
