This coming from a fan of Texas Tech, out in west fricking Texas. Have fun living in a Cormac McCarthy novel.

South of I-20, yeah. The whole state south of Jackson is one gigantic pine forest until you reach the coast.
The northern part of the state, especially the northeastern part of the state, is hilly, deciduous forests. Lots of oaks, gums, magnolias, and so forth. The Delta is soybean and cotton farms as far as the eye can see, but before the levees were built it was a gigantic cypress swamp, literally over 100 miles wide at some points.
Geographically, Mississippi really has four distinct regions.

Funny, I always thought the best thing about Mississippi was that they sell fireworks year round and a more dangerous variety than you can get in Texas.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those firework laws have changed. You can only get them around 4th of July and New Year's. But they still do sell the dangerous stuff. shite's like hand grenades.

No shite--5th of July the coast would look like a damn war zone

Drove to Florida from College Station a few years ago. Once we got past the TX/LA border, and about until we hit Orlando, pine trees are all I remember seeing between small towns on the way. Could have just been the route we took though.
Also, I 'd at the Cormac McCarthy jab.

Why stay classy A&M ? The world needs more snarky pissants hiding behind a computer actin' tuff. Sell your state, be true to your school. Dig for inane stats that counterbalance any mediocore period in your history. If you keep your head on a swivel you will find enough twittered dirt to give your enemies a facial
