McCannon is not even a top 3 QB. If you have the best RB in the country in TRich, a solid 2 RB in Lacy, arguably the best OLine in the country and a respectable receiving corps, with a run heavy offense that defenses load the box against, you better fricking be efficient and do well. Stephen Garcia would have had a hard time not producing in that situation coke and all.
1- Wilson
2- Murray
3- Bray
3b- Mc "fluke" on
4- It doesn't really matter
Keihl Frazier has the talent if Loefler is all he is chalked up to be

Agreed, if Mett was as good as advertised he'd have played last year. The fact he settled in behind JJ and the white QB tells me all I need to know.
I wish people would stop saying this. Its one thing (and I agree with this sentiment) to not put him in the top 5 when he hasnt played. However if anyone thought that Les Miles was going to turn over the team to a cocky gunslinger who just came in from JUCO when he had two senior qbs then they havent watched LSU since 2005. Mett was going to be given a "shot" in the spring but he was going to have to be perfect on and off the field showing no signs of immaturity to win Les over.
A serious ranking of the qbs should be similar to this
1 Wilson
2 Murray (2 and 3 are interchangeable)
3 McCarron (his throws were perfect in the NC people have on here have given Mathieu a hard time for that game but I thought he was covering the receivers pretty well McCarron just placed the ball perfectly not much you can do about that)
4 Bray-has all the tools but doesnt have the head yet
Anything after that is unproven or proven to be mediocre

I love the Petrino doesn't develop QBs argument. It is hilarious. Like every coach happens to have a NFL star fall into their laps. I guess David Cutcliffe and Lloyd Carr are the greatest qb coaches of all time.
Petrino is one of the best out there if you want to get recognized as a top QB at the next level. Jake Plummer ring any bells? Mallett went in the 3rd rd. Wilson will go in the 1st.

Just wait until the end of the season.

Pass Efficiency Rating in SEC Only games last year:
1.McCarron 150.7 11 TD's - 3 INT's
2.Murray 144.8 18 TD's - 8 INT's
3.Wilson 141.4 14 TD's - 4 INT's
When McCarron had to make a throw, he connected. Everyone thinks Wilson is better, because he gets to throw the ball a lot more (He had 270 attempts in SEC play compared to 200 by McCarron). With 70 more attempts, Wilson only had 3 more TD's than McCarron.
If I had to make the choice between the above three, I take McCarron over Wilson. McCarron sold me in the BCS Championship game. He was $$$$$.
But...............The Mettziah is taking over next year!!!!
This argument is so dumb. Have you even attempted to compare Alabama's o-line to Arkansas'? What about their rush attack from last season? It's literally night and day. In addition, don't you think having that defense that completely shut down every offense they played against last year, meaning the opponent's defense had to come right back on the field without any rest, played some part?
I think if McCarron and Tyler switched teams, McCarron would put up much worse numbers than Wilson and Wilson would put up even better numbers than he did.

I was a Murray fan coming into this past season, but for some reason, I just don't trust the kid now. I feel like he has never put the team on his back and carried them to a victory (well, one that's worth mentioning). Am I the only one that thinks this?
I would probably put Wilson atop my list, w/ Bray & McCarron tied at #2. Not sure there's much space between those 3 though.

Why is it so dumb? Because I didn't rank your Arky boy #1? Lighten up man!! I like Tyler Wilson a lot! I love the way he takes a hit in the pocket. I'm not dissing him one bit. I'm ranking him #2 in the conference right now.
I just like McCarron a bit better. I love how he played on the big stage. I loved how he made plays when he had to even when his receivers were covered.
Just because someone has a different opinion than your "homer" opinion doesn't mean it's dumb. I don't think you are dumb, I just think you can't think with any objectivity at all, which is what I'm doing here.

The objective thing would be to look at their games and come to a conclusion, instead of using a single statistic as your entire analysis. All you cited was pass efficiency in SEC play only.
Wilson can make throws McCarron only dreams of. I'm pretty sure you're being the opposite of objective, saying McCarron is the best just because he beat LSU. Oh and his 'receivers were covered.'
I remember AJ making a bunch of bad throws too, and several of his completions were terrible throws that had to be caught acrobatically by that backup receiver.
