Clint probably could've won a lot of games as bamas qb because the rest of the team is so good, but not the bcs. Aj made some throws that were spot on and Clint would've been raped by the pass rush.

Mettenberger should be ok if anything just because of his running game and O-line. Definitely top new starting QB.

Did this help Jordan Jefferson be a top SEC QB?

No. Did I say Mettenberger would be a top SEC QB? No.

This has nothing to do with JJ.

That's debatable

They could've won a NC with Zeke Pike at QB

quote:

Neither is LSU. They have a good stable of RBs as well.

They have horrible QBs, and were reliant on the run.

Alabama has "one of the best QBs in the SEC", and they were still reliant on the run.

LSU will pass more this year.

Mett will be better than McCarron, IMO. :dwi:

My top 5 would be:

1. Tyler Wilson
2. AJ McCarron
3. Aaron Murray
4. Tyler Bray
5. Zach Mettenberger

You really went out on a limb there, since their are going to be SO many new SEC starting QBs this year.

Pass Efficiency Rating in SEC Only games last year:

1.McCarron 150.7 11 TD's - 3 INT's
2.Murray 144.8 18 TD's - 8 INT's
3.Wilson 141.4 14 TD's - 4 INT's

When McCarron had to make a throw, he connected. Everyone thinks Wilson is better, because he gets to throw the ball a lot more (He had 270 attempts in SEC play compared to 200 by McCarron). With 70 more attempts, Wilson only had 3 more TD's than McCarron.

If I had to make the choice between the above three, I take McCarron over Wilson. McCarron sold me in the BCS Championship game. He was $$$$$.

But...............The Mettziah is taking over next year!!!!

Yes, Wilson runs a more pass oriented offense so his passing #'s will be better. However, don't forget to factor in how much pressure Wilson had on him and how much he was responsible for carrying and executing the offense. Wilson's ability to escape pressure and throw on the run is what allowed him to excel last year. Our o-line was not that great last year, and if you asked any other QB in the league to stand back there and execute our complex offense with a porous o-line they would get killed. Only QB who compares is Murray.

There was a very good chance we would've lost the NC game had McCarron not made the throws he did.

Mettsiah is one of their QBs, is he horrible?

Running the ball because you have great RBs is not the same as being reliant on the run. AJ proved in the NC that he can make throws when the run isn't doing so well.

0, 0 fricks given. I just think its retarded to say an unproven QB is already better than one that is proven.

Yea, that goose-egg LSU put on the scoreboard would be hard to beat

No, Les Miles just had a love fest with JJ. Quite obvious.

Alabama was reliant on the run all year. Every fan on this board, outside of Bama fans, will tell you that.

Funny, I saw people ranking McCarron above JJ/JL last year. Even though they sucked, Alabama fans still did it with McCarron so unproven.

Until a Petrino coached QB can prove he can play at the next level, I'll continue to believe they're overrated system QBs in the mold of anyone coached by Leach or June Jones.

1. Wilson
2. Bray
3. Murray/McCarron/Shaw
4. Russell

Why does everyone think LSU is gonna have a good qb this year?

I don't know how to rank Franklin.

I'd like to know this as well considering their QB play has been so great the last 4 years.

You know 2.0 basically means re-done in a better way right? Thanks. He was only a sophomore last year and never knew how much he would be playing.

Agreed, if Mett was as good as advertised he'd have played last year. The fact he settled in behind JJ and the white QB tells me all I need to know.

lol... the "system" is pro style, and what happens to them in the NFL has nothing to do with how we rank them as college QB's. NEXT...
