For some of you that are too young to remember the man, please watch this video. If you watch the ENTIRE thing then you just may think twice before you degrade the man, or say off the wall crap about him. Not only was he the greatest Coach to ever walk the sidelines, but he was a great person too.
Any yes, we know he's dead, but the world would be a lot better place if more folks were like him.

Bear Bryant ate his own feces and fornicated with his mother....
Oh wait, he's from Arkansas? In that case, the man is a legend and a saint.

I don't think anyone questions Paul Bryant being a good person. Well, except for the spousal treatment, I mean.
But that doesn't mean he didn't kick our asses for years and we won't still hate him.

the man was a great football coach. he took advantage of the rules of the day (or lack thereof) and ran his program like a professional team. the sec was not the premier conference during his tenure and his accomplishments were not as highly rated as they would be in this era because he probably would have had alabama on probation about 50 times. he signed as many players as he wanted to, overtly paid his players (arranged for alumni to) and the best cars went to the best players. kenny stable openly admited to getting any car he wanted and never knowing where his income source originated. but, like i say, given the fact that his practices were accepted, he was a great football coach.

nope. He was a very good coach that took advantage of the system that was in place but Bowden and Paterno's accomplishments in the old school and modern football put them above Bryant.

My grandmother went to Alabama and knew Bryants wife, Mary Harmon well. He was part of an age of great coaches that included Bobby Dodd, General Neyland, Bud Wilkinson, Johnny Vaught, and others.
Times were different then. How do you compare the other coach with a statue at Bryant Denney to Bryant?

I know most of the tards will flame and make jokes at Bryant's expense, but the Kent Waldrep story is very touching. Coach Bryant did more for him than his own school was willing to do. In fact, his son would become the first recipient of the Bryant Scholarship that did not have a father that played for Bryant at Alabama. That was in 2006.

The only bad thing I'll say about Coach Bryant is I wish he could have won one nat'l championship at A&M before Mama called
