The "you already lost to LSU" argument

This seems to be the ONE argument those against a rematch cling to for dear life. It's such a ridiculous argument too. LSU fans and other fans against an LSU/Alabama rematch are essentially arguing that because LSU is the likely opponent in the BCS title game that this fact more or less negates any argument that Alabama fans may bring up that their only blemish was the the consensus #1 team while other 1 loss contenders had MUCH worse losses. Think of how irrational and bizarre that argument is.
One would think the main focus of the BCS AT THIS POINT is to determine who #2 is. #1 (assuming LSU wins out) is a given. How do you determine who #2 is? Do you A)Look at each contender's body of work, who they beat, who they lost to, and look at how they stack up to the other contenders for #2 or do you B) Eliminate contenders not based on how they stack up with other contenders for #2 but what would be a "fair" match up for #1? I submit that A is obviously the logical way to pick LSU's opponent yet LSU fans and other anti rematch fans actually try to argue the absurd point B as the correct way to determine who #2 is. It makes no logical sense whatsoever.

How is it fair that we have to beat you twice to win the NC but you only have to beat us once?

Do you feel that OSU and UM should've had a rematch in 06? Just curious.

I just find it hard to believe you were on the UGA bandwagon in 2007, or Michigan bandwagon in 2006.

Honestly, if Alabama had beaten LSU you don't think there would be the same argument either from Alabama fans or towards LSU fans?

STFU,
We'll be happy to beat you again. Just get in the dang game, if you can!

It's not about what's fair to you.
You LSU fans are so self-centered about this.

It is better for the tide to leave it at this because when Miles is given a month to prepare, the results would be disastrous to Bama.
This way Bama can save their reputations and hold their heads high and take home the #2 when LSU thrashes the non-sec opponent in the BCSNCG.

There are many arguments for and against a rematch. Everybody is going to pick whichever one suits their cause.
In the end, since when was the BCS, or even college football, FAIR? Some teams always have an easier road than others. It is what it is. Man the frick up and deal with it.

Not to mention if we get through the Arkansas game and SEC Championship game, we will still have a better record than Bama even if they do beat us in New Orleans. Will we get to rematch again for the best 2 out of 3 is we lose?

INB4 the irrelevant Giants/Patriots argument.

The seven stages of grief apply to most negative events in a persons life. The level with which they are followed is directly proportional to the importance of the negative event in the overall scheme of one's life. Here is how I see the LSU (SEC RANT VERSION) fanbase.
Shock and Denial
Pain and Guilt
Anger
Bargaining
Depression and Sorrow
Testing and Reconstruction
Acceptance

OSU will Jump over Bama in the polls if they smoke Okie State
Depression and Sorrow

Bama is a pretty good team and I hope we can beat them twice in the same season.

Great point. Alabama is deserves to be the #2 team and play in the championship, regardless of who is #1.
