although it wont be a cakewalk.
Never a cakewalk in the SEC.
After this week, we get Auburn at home, have an open week to heal up. Then we head to Vanderbilt & Ole Miss.
After that we host South Carolina & Tennessee in Fayetteville, then host Miss State in Little Rock before heading to Baton Rouge.

Oh damned, there we go forgetting all the problems we know we have. I know Bama took advantage of us in ways that no team until at least LSU will be able to, but that doesn't mean other teams can't exploit the same weaknesses to a lesser advantage. Obviously most teams won't get pressure on us when in nickel or even dime coverage, but our offensive line couldn't run block even in that dime coverage.
If our offensive line gels and our run game comes around, we will be a lot closer to a complete team. Until then we are Texas Tech under Leach...

Do you see a team besides LSU left on our schedule that has a decent defense? Maybe I am missing a great defense some place in there.

I'l probably hang myself from Kyle Field with a sign saying "Golden opportunity, yet again wasted" if we lose this game. This team has so much potential, yet choked away a great opportunity for national spotlight against OSU. Oh well, at least I'l be drunk during the game, so I might just run in front of a train.

Jon, off topic, but what did you think of the new office last night? to me, its not the same without michael scott, but it was still funny.
I really enjoyed last night's episode. I've been a fan of the show for a long time, and it's just really interesting to see how the writers are developing the characters now and the new balance between the cast. I loved the show with Michael Scott, but things were beginning to get a little "stale" with him at the center of most shows and exhausting most ideas of things to do with him.
I like how they replaced Michael with California as CEO and Andy as manager. It adds an extra dynamic to the show, Spader plays that character incredibly well, and Andy is a different kind of manager than they have ever had and he's had some good one liners and moments so far. I like how they gave someone like Andy a chance to "grow" into the position after starting out unsure of himself; makes his character a lot more human and lovable and we need that in some of the show's characters.
edit: I see you're new here. You should start reading the Movie/TV Board if you're into that. We have threads for each episode of all the popular TV shows like The Office.

Bull shite. Arkansas people were not allowed to referee Arkansas games, only those from Texas.
Untrue. The ref who made the PI call against Larry Horton was an Arkansas grad who sold insurance in Little Rock. Slocum was so incensed that the SWC bylaws were changed in the off season to prevent alumni from officiating games with their alma mater. Shocked the hell out of a lot of us that the league ever thought this was okay in the first place. Conflict of interest, anyone?

how does the hog defense stack up against last year's D?

Bigger, faster, stronger.

It was expected to be better because we had like 7 or 8 starters returning, plus we added a big DT in Robert Thomas and a stud LB in Alonzo Highsmith. However, our two starting DE's have gone down to injury, and what was once the strength of the defense is now some what of a question mark (our D-line). Our secondary has been okay but has given up the deep ball way too easily, and our tackling hasn't been great but that has usually been the case earlier in the season against Bama and we usually get better as the year progresses.
I'm not sure which Arkansas defense shows up tomorrow. A&M will be tough to defend because you have to respect their ability to both run and pass, as well as account for Tannehill's ability to run.
It will be fun to watch two good QB's go back and forth tomorrow.

Story of our team this yr.
SHOULD be a good game. At least I hope it is. I just have a bad feeling after last week. Still makes me sick to my stomach.

There's too many self-hating Aggies on this thread! I'm still pissed about last week too, and I don't feel overly confident about this game, but I will never, EVER pick the Fightin' Texas Aggies to lose!
My prediction: Judie and Swope play, Fuller decides to stop nursing his sissy hamstring and run routes 100%, and the defense steps up to rectify their awful 2nd half performance last week. Ags by 4!
BRING THE HATE!!!

Bravado is great and necessary, but it can be exposed when rubber meets the road. The reality is this team showed me they lack the one thing you need. Desire.

I thought the same thing last week after watching Arkansas get killed by Bama

What is this, the winner of the game has a sure shot of the Cotton Bowl? Blah, too much hype, and somewhat of a worthless outcome. We truly need a playoff system in college football. MOST LIKELY, if you lose one game now, then you have no shot at the NC. Everything else is kind of boring IMO. It's kind of like going to the NIT, who gives a shite.

Arkansas has a clear advantage:
Petrino > Sherman
Hate on the (F)Aggies, 105 minutes to kickoff!

I have to go to a goddamned tae kwon do tournament in Little Rock today because my fiancee's sister and brother-in-law are in town to compete in it. I'm turning my phone off so no one texts me and reveals the score... hopefully I can avoid any mention of the game until tomorrow morning when I can (hopefully) watch the replay on ESPN3 before I catch a glimpse of the score. Wish me luck.
